It is worth mentioning that Malaysia experienced Kongxi Raya in


1964, 1965, 1966,

1996, 1997, and 1998,

where the Chinese Lunar New Year coincided with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.



This occurs on average every 32 to 33 years.

KFC, McDonald's, Subway,
A & W , Burger King, Popeyes,
Texas Chicken, Carl's Jr, Domino's

and Pizza hut

Jollibee
Marrybrown,Sushi King,
4Fingers Crispy Chicken,
Nando's ?



But every year, during Hari Raya, they're also open.


Not everyone wants to rest; some people want to work overtime to earn more money.



I've noticed that many KFC, McDonald's, Texas Chicken, A & W and Burger King outlets have staff who are almost all of the same race.

Take about 33+ years to complete one cycle of kongsiraya. If this is the 2nd time you experience this then you are almost 50 years old uncle already.

After that, then it is xmasraya. then deeparaya.

Hari Raya Puasa 2004–2006

In 2004, Deepavali fell on 11 November, just three days before Hari Raya.


In 2005, Deepavali and Hari Raya Puasa fell on 1 and 3 November respectively.

The following year, 2006 Deepavali fell on 21 October and Hari Raya Puasa on 24 October.

This led to the coining of the term Deepa Raya that was used in both Singapore and Malaysia.

Assuming the boikot is still ongoing:

Non-muslim: KFC, McD, non halal restaurants which defer their holidays but price +30%

Muslim: Nandos, The Chicken Rice Shop, Bananabro, mamak yg bukak

Indians + DLL please stay home. U dun wanna get trapped at the airport, NSE, etc., trust me. Dun go complain long queue la, jam la, dok rumah jgn nyebok

I'm not gonna be so sure if I'm you
This raya some tealive completely closed for 3 days
Mr.diy also close for the lalaport branch because all staff are malay
Many places that I expect to be open end up closing because no staff wanna work or all balik kampung

Easy, stay at home, stock up lots of self heating food. Or buy extra fridge.

Best option is to go overseas vacation. Thailand should be open for all.

Lets plan ahead.

Maybe by then no more CNY holiday

Seems kl have a lot of not kl people go there and work there.


At johor i never notice any scenario like that..

Such a mess when some festive not certain.

Will go oversea for vacation.

Malaysia still survive in the next 10 years?
