Supermicro H12SSL-i

I have made a price check on server parts before, I found some used parts on taobao that can support Registered ECC Ram, eg
- Xeon Gold 6133 with SM X11SPL-F for RMB4100
- Xeon E5-2680v4 with SM X10SRL-F for RMB3400
- EPYC 7xx2 wiht H12SSL-i for RMB5550
- a stick of 32GB registered ECC ram costs RMB200-300

The cheaper option would be going with older Intel Xeon platform, but they would be less efficient. EPYC platform is powerful, gives you lots of cores and PCIE slots but the price is crazy.

The cost to upgrade to these server grade parts are huge. Often need to swap the entire system. Then you need to factor in the total power consumption, electricity cost and heat & noise if you want it to run 24/7.
