Haha. Cmon be serious. If cars are worth millions they should be paying taxes proportionate to their worth, and also the owner has the means to. Eg some of the NA engines pay around 12k I think for the 5L motors. Anyway back to your case.

I guess what I’m saying is, if you’re spending on a car worth north of 200k obviously you must be either an enthusiast or someone that values the experience of driving or just like a specific brand. I guess it’s a question you’re going to have to ask yourself, if that price matches the other criteria’s for you choosing the cars you’re wishing to compare - A-class vs EV with high performance (on a side note, these two cars are miles apart in what they do). I mean if value proposition is your primary driver, then yea like you said the 1.3l turbo Aclass with 180 or whatever HP is your bet right? With cheap roadtax and lower maintenance and tyre costs, etc. I guess we all want everything for the cheapest price, but alas tax is tax and we shouldn’t stop living and doing what makes us happy just because of it.

Goodluck with your decision!

lol. People have a tendency to talk a lot of bs just for the sake of it. I mean unless we have some sort of proof, im not going to brand a person that can afford an exotic being cheap and not spending 15k on road-tax a year with the threat of his/her car impounded.

On the other hand I get your point, there are enough examples of all levels of cars without insurance/roadtax/etc. I guess stupidity and selfishness is across the board.

In HK, an ICE car with 2.0 engine, road tax is HKD 7500 (RM4500++), while Tesla Model Y is only HKD 1200 (RM 700++)

I Don't see there is a reason that any EV car cost thousand of RM yearly when gov saying encourage ppl to buy EV cars .

If follow the old EV road tax structure, its tax even cost more than Hong Kong!

I'm still waiting gov announce the new EV road tax structure but very disappointed this Anthony Loke "throw plane" again and again, and his job is likely just sell car plate to earn money
