Hola guys , I am planning to buy a new Corolla Cross , done with test drive and everything and got an offer at around 130k for V spec.

Needs your input as below :

1) Is it a good time to go in now ? Heard that Yarris Cross is coming soon and it will lower the price of Corolla Cross ....

2) Many relative and friends recommend me to buy EV car with similar price

3) Some even advise me to wait for new Perodua SUV that going to launch in April

All and all , I like the car after test drive . But I also wanna make sure to ge more opinions to avoid instant regret after purchase.

Cheers

Yaris cross and perodua SUV I think they’re different segment compare to tcc.

Well u can wait until May/June only decide.
For myself, I won’t go for EV for now. Imagine holiday season, lining up to charge, charging station hoggers etc 🫣

Relatives/ friends recommending u to buy EV because that’s the trend now.. but only you yourself knows what u want.

If you have doubt of buying new car, then just wait for the Yaris Cross to rollout and test the car before making decision. The only thing let down by the Corrolla Cross is the "foot parking brake". Nowadays most of the cars price above RM100k are using electronic parking brake (EPB), even the Toyota cheaper model like Veloz and Vios G were using electronic parking brake. Don't be fooled by some people comment that the EPB is fragile, mechanical parking brake is more reliable. Toyota themselves also using EPB in many models.

Have to agree on the EPB, they usually come with brake hold function too which is a life saver during traffic jams!

I believe the facelifted TCC in Thailand already comes with EPB, should wait for the same facelift to come to Malaysia...

Actually I don't know why many people said will lining up to charger during holiday season. When we drive long distance EV is not the first option vehicle and even we have to use the EV for long distance we should plan ahead. Make sure the car is full charged and travelling distance should control under 300km during holiday season to avoid using public charger in R&R. When we reach to distination the left over balance should enough for us to travel about 50km before checking in hotel or homestay. Nowadays more and more hotels are providing EV charging facility and even in future some landed homestay will equipped with AC charger.

Some may argue that EV is not ideal for those needed to travel from JB to Penang without layover a day in the middle. I believe 99% people (except business purpose) won't drive such a long distance without a rest. EV is not that scary but one thing is seriously disadvantage is the resell value is very bad.

If TS can plan ahead journey, stop point etc, he can go ahead with EV since his relative friends recommend

Waiting and hoping to see some drama on FB EV page next week 😛

As news travel about TCC facelift, a lot of buyers will wait if the price hike is not expected to be severe.

Price aside, there are few cases where new models are worse off. Example
Axia Rahmah from 25K to 22K
HRV S from discounted 104K 1.8L to 115K 1.5L

whats your criteria for a car now?

can try test drive Subaru XV also.... it drives much much better than the Cross and after discounts its around 135k+/- also. but its considered outdated lah... new model aleady exist

in the end it boils down to what you want. there must be a reason for you to choose Cross otherwise you would've looked elsewhere

if you have doubts whether to go EV or stick with petrol, lets just say petrol is here to stay. in our country for the next 10 years at least

The facelifted model? No idea but if you’re not in a rush, do consider waiting for it to launch here.

One might argue that your long reply and explanation and consideration is the reason why its not ideal 😂
