Lots of us have lots of PCs or laptops, so I am refering to the primary PC/laptop you use. What Windows OS is it running?

If you are still not on Windows 11, when do you plan to switch? Such a hassle cause lots of older PCs or laptops cannot be upgraded. And no OS upgrade will mean no browser support in the future. For example, Firefox is the last major browser supported by Windows 7 and will end its support this coming September.

No problem. But win updates are slower than TPM capable machines.

I'll worry about upgrading in October 2025.

By then 11th gen/12th gen intel products will be cheaper on AliExpress lol

Been using Windows 3.11 + Office 4.3 for about a week now. Smooth and fast on an old laptop with 32GB SSD. Heck, the files are compatible with Office 365 too.

Office 365 on my modern rig is damn laggy and occupied over 10GB!

Actually win7 still ok, with firefox and bitdefender. If later really everything no support then i will install linux and experiment with it.

wrong

msi b450m a pro max = rm 255
tpm 2.0 module = rm 10-30

every other hindrance is easy workable i.e reformat or bios settings etc, even without reinstall

edit : sorry you can convert to gpt without reformat and keep your os, even fresh 10/11 install provides 'keep all stuff' options

Windows is an insult to a computer’s dignity. Throughout computing history, we’ve had good kit performing well and bad kit performing poorly, but to make good kit perform poorly requires a Windows install.

I use Arch, btw.

Im still on windows 10 because microsoft has not deploy windows server OS based on Windows 11. Current Windows Server 2022 is based on Win 10.
Microsoft is still not confident in Win 11 for enterprise servers.

win 11 supports r5 2600, if your b450 has a tpm connector and not a soldered tpm 1.2 module, you can already use 11.

Disable csm/legacy + enable secure boot and other easily fixable nuances notwithstanding.
