QUOTE(vhs @ Mar 28 2024, 10:03 AM) Lots of us have lots of PCs or laptops, so I am refering to the primary PC/laptop you use. What Windows OS is it running? If you are still not on Windows 11, when do you plan to switch? Such a hassle cause lots of older PCs or laptops cannot be upgraded. And no OS upgrade will mean no browser support in the future. For example, Firefox is the last major browser supported by Windows 7 and will end its support this coming September. You forgot the ipad OS option

Been using Windows 3.11 + Office 4.3 for about a week now. Smooth and fast on an old laptop with 32GB SSD. Heck, the files are compatible with Office 365 too.
Office 365 on my modern rig is damn laggy and occupied over 10GB!

Windows is an insult to a computer’s dignity. Throughout computing history, we’ve had good kit performing well and bad kit performing poorly, but to make good kit perform poorly requires a Windows install.
I use Arch, btw.

Im still on windows 10 because microsoft has not deploy windows server OS based on Windows 11. Current Windows Server 2022 is based on Win 10. Microsoft is still not confident in Win 11 for enterprise servers.

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Mar 28 2024, 02:56 PM) i already have b450m motherboard. if upgrade to 5600 still need TPM ? win 11 supports r5 2600, if your b450 has a tpm connector and not a soldered tpm 1.2 module, you can already use 11. Disable csm/legacy + enable secure boot and other easily fixable nuances notwithstanding. This post has been edited by ieatchickens: Mar 28 2024, 03:10 PM
