After doing some reserch this method is seems to be

What is a rogue base station?
Rogue base stations, also known as fake or false, are devices masquerading as cell phone towers, tricking cell phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower. You can quickly identify rogue base stations and any transient events by SXM. Watch our latest video to see the results.

The person send you SMS then your phone connect to thier base station their network. All your interaction with the fake site is key logged and if you type any banking information they will know know. You are basically connecting to their fake network.

Wow really no ppl kena this at bangsar south?

I almost everyday 10 - 12 am get spam by this message and my phone connects to its 2g Edge network. Have to manually turn on aeroplane mode then off it to connect back to original maxis.

Finally got ppl experience the same thing. i have 2 phone connected to same maxis. 2 together get the same message. dont think is specific number based spam its direct in the cell tower distribute all people connecting to the tower.

Tried complaining to the customer service but they too dumb to understand what is happening.

I think the whole of bangsar south maxis users are spam.

I was driving around Midvalley looking for the parking entrance when my wife said her phone dropped down to 2G EDGE and wouldn't switch back up to LTE.

Had to restarted her phone the get back into LTE.

This is a dangerous situation if someone accidentally falls victim to fake SMS's.

Rouge Base Stations is a new thing and it's use could potentially spread to other parts of KL.

Be aware and cautious.

Cheers.

here come a problem, even Maxis/Hotlink explicitly using short-url thing offically (even for some of their important features), that's make whole situation more funny now..
