US company usually got a profit limit, if it is way low of their profit margin they rather give up. I deal with few US supplier and even we gave them competitors pricing or proposal for cost down usually they either dont care or just give up.

True, there are plenty of BYD on Aussie roads. Maybe at the end of the day, people vote with their wallets.
