You guessed right, parent from the 80s. Only bring water bottle to avoid being nagged by female wife/mother for not drinking enough water. School canteen food still the same until today. My kids followed my footsteps by not eating during recess coz canteen don't make enough decent food.

Last time smk school, chinese uncle operator no issue one la. His ckt, and chicken rice the best, rm2.50 to rm3.50 per plate so gooding

I'm so envy with one SRJKC in KL which canteen caterer provide RM4.50 buffet style to student. Those student can pick their own food less or more portion which they feel is right. Is affordable even is B40 children.

Yep I don't see this trend in smk sk schools. But the srjkc and smkjc schools always always ask for donation. Smk schools also ask but not as frequent as the j type and parents always kena pressured to dobate lol and kids are ashamed when parents don't donate much. Anyways they do receive large donations from rich businessman who want to clear their sins when before death while smk srk nobody wanna donate, gov kata dia lol

--> They haven't seen yet the win win situation canteen caterer-student, They will follow if method proven is good in allway.

But the srjkc and smkjc schools always always ask for donation
--> Head master told that they have two types of donation
1)Standard regular donation which approved in PIBG AGM.
2)Donation funding if there is new incoming project such as build up additional study room/ PC room infra/ School Hall betterment/ infra improvement etc
3)Donation when if school admin expenses Vs saving fund is insufficient - School will organize charity event (Autumn festival, CNY chap goh meh, children day
event, fun run/ sport game contest, Food carnival for school fund etc.

--> this one very subjective, bcos i saw many old aunty just gave the money (by scheduled) to school because their kids all doing well and the money is an extra.
some uncle/aunty aged 70~80 but still selling food tepi jalan, but they donate money to school when school ask for it. Probably they understood that only kitajagakita and conlanfirm government berat sebelah tak boleh harap.

Last time pocket moneh 50¢ nia. Barely enough to buy noodles at canteen.

thanks to gomen, now soft drinks sugar are not more than 5gram per 100ml due to dont to paid tax....milk based if not mistaken are not more than 7g...

so now 100+ and cola are generally same...

how the make the drink still sweet? by converting to other natural or artificial sweetener....

80's got nicee nasi lemak, curry also not over spicy like now. Got prawn fish curry, ikan bilis, telur kari, ikan masin (fav) and the usual bilis telur. All for the price of 20-30 sen. The mamak sell mee goreng also sell at 50 sen a plate with potatoes, tauhu, cekodok and sprinkle with crush peanuts..if wan egg, 10 sen more or bawa sendiri.

Even ckt also can tambah siham and prawn for 50 sen, same for kari mee and prawn mee. Best of all, puasa pon bukake...kalo sapa tak puasa, can go buy and eat without shame..guru agama xsound pon.
