I think is not faked battery because PSP slim is around that range about 5-6 hours... U can try use PSP fat's battery which will increase 5-6 hours extra compare to PSP slim's battery...

How to save your PSP battery life
1. Don't put your PSP into sleep mode. Totally quite the game and shut it off by holding the ON/OFF switch button more than 5 secs.
2. Don't play any movies.
3. Set the screen brightness to the lowest level.
4. If you really want to have more than 10hrs of battery life, don't play any game, make it as a mp3 player.

its not a fake batt, thats the right amount of hours you're getting for the slim batt. Let me explain, the original phat batt is 1800mAh. when put on the phat psp, lasts about 5 hours playing games STRAIGHT. The original slim batt is ONLY 1200mAh, when used on the slim lasts abour 5-6 hours playing games STRAIGHT.
the difference? Slim has an added advantage because: 1) It is designed to consume less battery power thus making it lasts longer 2) with a smaller battery capacity, you take LESS time to fully charge the batt and get to play MORE or equal compared to the phat.
Let me note that when the psp is in sleep mode, it DOESNT take alot of battery at all. you can leave your psp in sleep mode for 24 hours without charging and it wouldnt even move 1%
Also, you can leave your wifi switch on as it doesnt take up batt. it takes up batt ONLY when you connect the wifi or use Ad-hoc.
Lowering brightness helps, maybe 1 or 2%? It is worth it if you're willing to hurt your eyes playing with less backlight for hours.
Its possible to have 10hours of gaming with the slim. Go get the 3600mAh phat batt and buy the new phat batt cover for the slim. The cover and batt is done by third party companies. Go google it.

QUOTE(WilliamG @ Nov 9 2007, 03:40 PM) How long do we ne ed to charge the psp slim untill its full....1st day is 8 hours b4 u on it rite? Well, AFAIK, the 8hours thingy applies to almost every single electronic components with battery nowadays. From handphones, to cameras and now, even to PSP. How effective and true or they, i certainly do not know but of course, i still practices this trend Anyway, as what Ryuuga said, it took me around 1 hour + to fully charge the Slim. Just see until the orange light goes off...

I really think the 8 hour thing is unnecessary because 1) by one hour or so, the batt fully receives enough power thus cutting off extra incoming power to the machine 2) Overcharging the batt will cause the lithium battery to bloat up like a puffing fish and eventually unusable
Ways to overcharge: 1) Charge the batt until it is full 2) Plug it out and plug it back in again, you will see the orange light lighting up 3) When the light turns off it is full, repeat step 2.
Keep repeating those steps everyday for a month or so, the batt will overcharge and spoil. it DOESNT give you extra batt power, so be careful of that. Don't go thinking "eh? still can charge la" then plug it back in again. Your batt spoils faster =P
That applies to ALL the handhelds, Ipods, hp, DS etc etc
