the launch of the new intel chips are happening next year first quarter. Apple will most likely not bump up the speeds yet. Even if they do, its a difference of 200 mhz and a higher front side bus speed. one main reason for this is that they allowed 2.6 ghz speeds on mbp. If i were you, i would buy the 2.6 ones, it will definitely be able to run leopard smooth as smooth can be.

though so, dont take my word for it if you like waiting. The rumour of a 12'' macbook is a more trustworthy rumour than a new mbp

note the 12'' macbook is a tablet pc. And you know apple is super good at making multitouch stuff
