I sold her myvi due to safety issue
I think she passed the driving test
Just when comes to tiny parking space I'm sure the current new car have those camera or parking assist can help her

Dunno she said SUV safer, better view

SUV can be dangerous sometimes because of the height literally many hidden blind spot especially for people not tall enough can end up tragedy

For good visibility SUV i still prefer xv or Forester

360 camera just for reference yes is helpful but can be dangerous sometimes imagine forward and reverse eye still staring at screen without notice left or right for parking purpose and the driver too focus on the screen end up bang the pass by vehicle when driver want to park perfectly scenes i see once before πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Who pay for the car? Between me and my wife, whoever pay make final call.

We get each other opinions out of respect, that's only for reference.

Fruit for thought.

My wife is short that's why she insists SUV
Those safety features just to assist, nice to have but can't 100% rely
I never use before my old car doesn't even have

Subaru very rare leh.. maybe can have a look

Want to buy sedan like Tesla M3, Civic, used BMW 330i because more power

but due to kid my wife say buy mid-size SUV for her first

so I don't know is recon Lexus NX300 worth to buy for her
Or better getting those NEW Honda CRV, Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX5

Reminding me a sad cringe moment on some short girl in a SUV clipping my car mirror because my car is too low

Fortunately no folding motor damage and contacted portion is unpainted plastic
I just close an eye. sad.gif

Small family? If just husband and wife plus 1 kid then nx should still suffice. If got elderly and more than 1 kid, then suggest get something more spacious. Nx’s interior size is roughly comparable to cx-5.

If power not an issue, can consider rx300 otherwise rx350. If budget max out at 200k then maybe only crv can be considered as best bang for buck for sizeable family suv.

I have to ask... Would SUV suit a short person? Feels like short people will find it difficult to get out of the car. Cause the feet can't touch the ground when turning out. Hahahaha.

CX5 is good choice. New car and worry free.
Yeah- only slight changes in visual. Some added safety feature. Your wife won’t appreciate- but it is definitely good to have.

See Toyota Cross or HRV. Woman really need such big car?

About choice…. Save 40-60k, brand new car less worry.
NX or Harrier- still second hand. Why pay 200k for a car which 3-4 years old ?

I would choose peace of mind and less nagging. Especially she made ur choice

Agreed that Subaru is a great car in term stability and safety. Had a Forester from 2017 to 2023. Enjoyed every single moment of driving it especially during raining day. The gives the confidence to the driver while driving it. However, costs of ownership for a Subaru is slightly higher than other Jap make, especially the air-con system. For the whole ownership tenure, i had changed 3 air-con compressor. With that, I could not tolerate this anymore and sold the car last year Sept. The car mileage was about 60k kms.

I never regret of owning the Forester.

I have jumped ship to CX8 (2.5 NA), deciding factor is, more spacious for 2nd row passenger and free 5 years maintenance costs and warranty.

Happy motoring everyone!

Sadly majority of people only prefer looks.
But if for my wife, i would recommend her re-con C-HR from Japan, small, nimble, unique and easy to drive/park in small town/city area.
Knew few recon owners, they feedback really very good especially with the 1.2T engine (1st Gen) and more premium feel/better handling compare to Corolla Cross. Now the 2nd gen even more sportier, but only available in Europe & Australia.
