Tak silap ni harga jatuh untuk earlier CBU model. Macam problem gearbox ke apa haritu ada baca.

Actual 1st batch 1.8L turbo is using 6AT gearbox, that gearbox is far more stable then the DSG/DCT gearbox.
The most popular X70 model is the 1.8T AWD in used market, due to limited units sold coz New X70 AWD only got 1.5T.

haha you must be kidding. So far have not seen any GB failure with DCT GB, all coming from 1st batch CBU

The 1st batch some owners fail gearbox is due to no change of gearbox AT oil. As previously the warranty for the 6AT gearbox if not mistaken is 3 years only, so either SC or owner think that the gearbox is lifetime and neglect it. If you ask mechanic outside, the 6AT is way more stable/smooth and less jiggering compare to the DCT gear change.

Based on my experience using grab
P2 cars less comfortable than P1
Even new bezza..can hear the mounting & drive shaft sounds
Although P2 may have better fuel efficiency

Well, you can go outside and ask those gearbox repairer/expert which gearbox is more cheaper to fix, less issue & longer lasting if maintain well. I bluff you got what to get from Proton? Since they are now not selling 6AT anymore what they want to pay me? doh.gif If they are paying me, should ask me to push about DCT gearbox benefit more and not the old 6AT.

Are you talking in context of this specific x70 6at, or overall transmission types as a general ?

I can understand if it's the latter, but then it might not hold true for x70 case if this specific 6at is deemed problematic to begin with on high failure rate.

Workshop I frequented always have x70 taking up spaces.
One was leaking oil into coolants.
One was replacing fan motor, need disassembly whole front, and you guess it, taking up shop space waiting for spare part.

you are referring to reliability or smooth.

If smooth then auto gearbox will always be smoother especially low speed.

If you are saying X70 Auto gearbox is more reliable then the DCT gearbox then it is not true because they are more failures for x70 auto gearbox .

Yes, the high failure rate previously is due to a lot of SC/owner did not change the AT gear oil on time coz of the 3 years warranty (Usually SC will not touch the gear oil). This is an open secret that most mechanic also knew about it. Most of the early batch when come out service, my mechanic 1st thing will help check is the AT gear oil. If you ask those gearbox repairer, they will recommend to change the AT fluid around 20k~40k or every 2 years (If always lanjak a lot recommend yearly 20k change).
