Well, you can go outside and ask those gearbox repairer/expert which gearbox is more cheaper to fix, less issue & longer lasting if maintain well. I bluff you got what to get from Proton? Since they are now not selling 6AT anymore what they want to pay me? If they are paying me, should ask me to push about DCT gearbox benefit more and not the old 6AT.
Not all GB built the same, the 6AT from X70 is problematic, meanwhile the DCT since launched till now did not hear any complaints from most of the group I follow.
Previously there is even a GB repairman live video taking the DCT from X50 apart and he is confident that this is DCT is very robust, also look at all the reviews critic how slow the gear shift which improve the longetivity

DCT robust only in it's gear as it is using similar gear design like manual but with dual clutch design. The main problem will be the mechatronic which will control the gear/clutch change, this mechatronic is way more expensive compare to like normal AT bodyvalve system when things starting to fail.

The one used in the Geely is very Mechanical compared to other DCT that's why the gearbox guy say very reliable

Found the link, you may go ahead and watch, is a long ass video where he talk about X70 6AT GB and X50 7DCT gb around 30mins mark
He do have other video where he critic the CVT from Proton as well.
Yes, the high failure rate previously is due to a lot of SC/owner did not change the AT gear oil on time coz of the 3 years warranty (Usually SC will not touch the gear oil). This is an open secret that most mechanic also knew about it. Most of the early batch when come out service, my mechanic 1st thing will help check is the AT gear oil. If you ask those gearbox repairer, they will recommend to change the AT fluid around 20k~40k or every 2 years (If always lanjak a lot recommend yearly 20k change).
This argument is flawed and doesn't makes sense at all. Based on your reasoning, the same can be applied to every other cars with AT gearbox.
Are you saying all AT gearbox of any car models have the same issue on high failure rate due to SC / driver negligence ? Or only x70 driver / all SC purposely don't want service 6at of x70 model only, but other cars with AT gearbox no high failure rate ?

IKR like......seriously dumb AF.
Basically saying we owners and our Proton SCs purposely not servicing ATF for some stupid reason.
i talked to few SA bout x70, many of them just ask me to buy new alza instead. seriously. for better peace of mind
Maybe because Alza they get more comission? I heard Proton have been very stingy in term of comission.
+ if ask u buy Alza, they don't need to waste so many saliva to convince you and you will automatically accept when there is problem as "rare" case. But when it is Proton u will cry mader cry fader regret this and that.
Trust me, a lot of these is in your mind sometimes.

SA words not credible 1 lah, they just sell car only and seeing you worry so much about Proton scare you come back haunt them is easier to just ask you go for other brand, or else later losing even friends.
With sizable family u definitely need the extra seats, no brainer just go for Alza x90 personally I felt too expensive

This is SC/manufacturer at fault for sure coz the warranty limit say it all. Early batch 3 years warranty already knew how far they are going to give you the product lifespan if without oil change. Thus why outside mechanic recommend to change it early.

If you don't know please don't comment like damn smart like that la.
First thing, Proton already extend to 5 years warranty.
Second thing, all servicing is done according to service manual, like every other single car in the world. We owners not dumb. CBU 6 speed failure is because Geely design badly fullstop. You think SC intentionally don't service for what, Proton is the one that have to pay for new GB, not to mention suffer the reputation loss. Just diam diam learn if you don't know, don't simply comment like must be correct like that.
