Currently using some cheapo unbranded 4G router with Unifi Bebas prepaid, but the speed slow like hell. But when using in phone, it is all fine. (Can rule out its the sim problem)

Any recommended 4G router that compatible with Unifi Bebas with good speed? Dlink DWR-M930 good? Main purpose of this is to allow me to access CCTV remotely. Budget <RM150.

Last time I'm using this C300 bought from Lazada.

If not connecting more than 6 devices (max 8), it works fine.

Now I'm running a D-Link DIR882 with a USB 4G Dongle.

Speed ok? Heard that dongle can overheat. I do have an existing WiFi router with usb that compatible with dongle.

the keyword to lookout for is the LTE Cat (category), and does it support CA (carrier aggregation) or not
as well as its wifi tier (like N300) and the ethernet port speeds

most cheap routers are LTE Cat 4 (150/50Mbps), do not support CA, Wifi N300 and 10/100Mbps ethernet

with these kind of routers, the expected speed is roughly 30Mbps

for your budget, these are the only choices you have

Dongle can get speed up to 40-50Mbps (4G+).

No overheat so far. But it did restart by itself, not sure if it's due to overheat.

If you want to look for budget LTE router, look for at least CAT6 LTE router.

If want better line quality, look for CAT9 LTE router.

Sorry, unifi bebas still value for money? If I'm not mistaken, it's riddled with FUP nowadays.

Anyhow, unifi use generally band 5, 38 and 40. All can be covered with Huawei B618-65D if you have the budget. If not, a good old Huawei B310 which supports those abovementioned bands or Olax AX9 Pro will do great

Does anyone know if those Olax or Flymodem have LTE CA? All listing in Shop** do not mention it. Lots of big words thrown around like B28 lock and 300mbps (which probably means Wifi “n” instead of LTE Cat6 or Cat7).

All those 5G modems are too big for my use case (need to move between a few houses). So far I see LTE modems are reasonably small as long as I find a good spec like 2CA or 3CA.

Also, no offense yeah, this is 4G/LTE modem thread?

Check the specs, if you want CA you will need Cat6 and above

If you want something 100% reliable and portable, get TP-Link M7450 / M7650

i have a ZTE 4G modem router, which can do 3CA or single B28, well the speed isn't good enough, 3CA which can only get 20mbps during peak hour and 80mbps during non-peak hour, where B28 consistently getting around 50mbps.

while using 5G modem router can get 350-500mbps.

just sharing my experience, maybe your area 4G signal isn't congested and that will be great for u.

no, I'm not offended. i know you have your own factors to be considered like size and budget.

Looks interesting. These few months I’m experimenting with Yes4G and B20+38 maybe can increase the performance a bit. Obviously I’m not looking for 5G solution yet (those 5G ‘mifi’ still quite out of my budget).
