Nice job. Hope to see that little mascot again next time....
Don't be too disappointed at the max OC. I think that's the max OC for these 8800 series cards (at stock cooling), although the GT has a new core with the rams supposedly rated at 2 Ghz..... So what's the retail price? P.S. Ask somebody to sponsor a nice digital camera la..... just make sure you don't torture it too!!! This post has been edited by kmarc: Oct 28 2007, 04:58 AM |

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Oct 29 2007, 04:35 PM) it wont void the warranty cause if anything happened, just replace back the stock hsf then send for rma. How about the thermal tape? My Asus thermal tape which is protruding out at the sides looks like it is 5-years old.... anywhere to buy similar thermal tapes? |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Oct 30 2007, 01:06 PM) uik not evga dude this is XFX 8800gt Alpha Dog Edition i just did that to see whether the SSC clocks were great or not.. so late i got the card only at 1a.m kekeke from cycom chap. but seriously this is the con everybody forgot to mention or were bribed by nvidia 100% fan speed is freaking loud and whinning. QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Oct 30 2007, 02:23 PM) hmm ok ive tested the limit of this card on stock cooling Please post some results. Interested to know. I wouldn't be surprise considering that the fan is slated to put out about 11 cfm only!!! One website actually recommend removing the cover......hmmm.... maybe removing the cover and putting fans to blow on the GT would be a better and cheaper solution..... its very unfair if i post that results which i suspect thats what some ppl in VRzone did too... already found the heatwalls... now the question is the OVP. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Oct 30 2007, 03:20 PM) thats rubbish Artifact free. from the sound and the airflow i would be guessing around 60-70 cfm hmm u want to know artifact free or just benching clocks?? artifact free is just a bit more than what i posted but that depends on ure ambient temp, casing etc. but i can confirm to all of u this card has no probs doing the same clocks as EVGA SSC 700/1750/2000 artifact freaking free cause i did that artifact scanning with no aircon / even fan and inside my case and left it to run for 4 hours from 4 in the morning till 8a.m. be specific.. the reason i have benched cause i havent figured out yet the PCB's heat spots.. Oopss... didn't notice you posted it in the previous page. So, is the temp at 66'c correct? Why do you say it is wrong? Edit : I seriously doubt that such a small fan could possibly put out 60-70cfm... This post has been edited by kmarc: Oct 30 2007, 03:48 PM |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Oct 30 2007, 03:47 PM) theres 3 temps for all the 8800's Haiyaa.... wished I was at home to try all these things out.the GPU temp, GPu ambient Temp and GPU Core temp the correct temp is GPU core temp the two on ATI tools is GPU temp and GPU ambient temp when ntune works it will show GPU core temp unless they changed something for the 8800gt drivers then sorry . I never bothered to use ntune as I like to use rivatuner. You mean ntune will give a different temperature reading? What's the difference between GPU temp and GPU core temp? Let me get this straight: -GPU temp = indicated by ATItool 2nd reading = ? overall GPU temp including ram and core??? -GPU core temp = by ntune = G80/G92 core temperature? |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Oct 30 2007, 05:14 PM) normally Ati tools will read gpu core temp I see..... ok, will try it out NEXT MONTH when I get back home. Miss my rig.... huhu.... hmm dunno leh my everest cant read the 8800gt temps on 8800gts/gtx/ultra u can get all this info on everest core clocks shader clocks mem clocks Gpu temps gpu core temps mem temps Gpu ambient temps and usually ati tools will use GPu core temps only can confirm the temps once the new ntune comes out till then i remain skeptical on the temps reported as u can see in my two post its posting gpu temps and not gpu core temps hmm look at the maximus formula thread there should be some examples there |

QUOTE(AceCombat @ Nov 3 2007, 02:21 PM) for longer lifespan and less heat and less power consumtion. For me, I overclock to get more value for my parts. However, I'm not too worried about lifespan as computer parts either last a long time or kaput very fast irregardless of whether you OC or not. I just don't OC to the max as I don't want them to kaput TOO fast. Usually bring down the OC just a little lower than max OC..... i use my QX6700 run at 2.4GHz with 1.02vcore prime stable me also student. Added on November 3, 2007, 3:15 pm QUOTE(remeron @ Nov 3 2007, 03:12 PM) holy crap nuts... Is your fan running at 100%?i can't get my xfx 8800gt to go more than 680 core. load temp is at 82. but i tried 700 and i get artifacting and also in games. tried it on crysis. crap nuts. any pointers anyone? QUOTE(kianweic @ Nov 3 2007, 05:40 PM) Hi everybody, So how much did it cost you to get the extra stuff? I bought a Zalman FC-V9 heatsink, Zalman Super Thermal Grease and Vizo Copper Heatsink today for my Zotac Geforce 8800GT earlier today. Apparently it does fit, sorry I was too excited I did not take any photos of my graphic card with the new cooler on. Idle temp ranges from 39c to 43c and load is about 50-51c. The best part is that even at the highest speed for this cooler, it's no where as annoying as the stock cooler @ 60-70%. Cheers, Ken |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 4 2007, 01:15 AM) i wouldnt get those they preform similar to the thermaltakes Wah. Not bad, but considering that you have to use 2 vizo slot fans, 4'c is not much leh......when the did the comparison with the 8800gtx stock cooler and the ND4 i think for the gtx the difference was minimal... go water dude.. Added on November 4, 2007, 1:37 amdude the vizo pcie slot fans.. they actually work!!! kekeke never did work well on the gts/gtx but on this card brought down the temps by 4C not bad leh i put one at the top and one at the bottom Have you tried removing the cover only (Is it possible)? I think the temperature drop will be greater.... |

QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 4 2007, 10:54 AM) The Fatality cooler is nothing compared to the HR03. Better get the HR03. U shud be seeing about 20C drop in both idle n load temps. Wow! The casing is sooooo big! Even my smaller HEAVY casing already difficult to carry around, especially if something is wrong and need to send it to the shop. Big casing how? Buy trolley put at home? Can SLI 1. See here. |
