Did you involve an accident with a motorcycle ? or did you settle your accident with the third party who is involve? even that you didn't make any claim the third party can make claim on you if its your fault in that accident then your NCD become 0%

Some insurance like Etiqa got the Drive-less-save-more rebate, any disadvantage to renew earlier?

Insurance and road tax can renew 2 months prior.

Don't tell me you are planning to drive a car without a road tax tomorrow?

Anyway I suggest you to go ahead with the renewal first.

Then only claim back from the insurance company once they reinstate your ncd

Yeah ultimately I need the car to be fully insured.

But is it a realistic outcome that they will reimburse the difference?

Yea they will, just like when you claim NCD when you transfer your NCD from a used car to a new car.

Anyway I don’t think you have any choice here. This will likely drag on as the insurance company need time to check the chronology of the case. You cant drive without insurance and road tax.

Issue resolved. Called them this morning 8.30AM to ask what's up, they said will check with supervisor, but supervisor not in office yet.

Due to technical glitch from their part, there was a claim file opened and they cancelled, but the NCD was still locked by them.

12PM got a callback, said to submit proof that the other car I hit i settled outside, sent whatsapp conversation via email. The lady on the phone said it would take 2 weeks for investigations and that I need to purchase at 0% NCD first and claim prorated rebate later.

Full disclosure, I was very anxious over it and I demanded the matter be resolved by today itself or I'd file a complaint. Heard back from them in 30 minutes along with a screenshot that my NCD is 55%.

What a waste of my thaipusam holiday.

Just a suggestion.

Remember to get official letter from current insurer and keep records esp if the screenshot is only insurer's internal records (vs PIAM's master record).

This is because if you when you change new insurer or NCD transfer for buy new car (new insurer may rely on PIAM's master record).

I had to go wild goose chase when I changed insurer.

BTW is this insurer Alxxxz ?
