Did anyone here bring your dog to do x-ray and ultrasound to scan for cancer before?
Roughly how much does it cost?

QUOTE(BladeRider @ Jan 22 2024, 02:56 PM) Did anyone here bring your dog to do x-ray and ultrasound to scan for cancer before? Depends, best to get a consultation first. Roughly how much does it cost? Full scan, partial scan, organ scan, with or without in patient stay (charge per day), all cost differently. Also blood test will be needed, extra cost. I have a large Shepard mix, full checkup including cancer screening with 3 days stay = RM3600+ (Converted from SGD) This is SG vet though, not sure if Malaysia cheaper or not. Should be cheaper if partial scan but may not be thorough enough to detect some cancer/diseases. How old is your dog? Older dogs around 8-10 years old may have cancer (depends on breed, some less likely), but they usually have more critical diseases at that age, like kidney and liver problems. Conclusion, better get a vet consultation first, then ask for the price. They have to do a basic checkup first, before they can tell you what tests needed and price estimate. |

Oh, so sorry to hear that, condolences.I took her to a vet to scan, her whole liver turned to tumor.. 6 still not too old for dogs, but depends on breed, genes, diet, environment, some young dogs get cancer too. Jan-March only 2 months, already terminal stage cancer, not much the vet can do even if detected. My dog already old, 10 years old, that's why I take him to do full checkup every year, help him stay healthy and comfortable for as long as possible. Expensive but worth it, since he is like family, many good memories. This post has been edited by adonhhk: Jul 30 2024, 04:13 PM |
