Been seeing a lot of Nokia Fastmile modem popping out on Shopee as well recently. How good are these? I have decent 5G speeds inside my house (UMobile 38 with OnePlus Nord 3), getting around 400-600MBps on average. Should i save some more $$$ and get the Fastmile instead or just buy the Gteniq?

QUOTE(hurricane21 @ Jan 21 2024, 01:53 PM) Using Nokia fastmile bought from shopee, my phone can’t even get 5g on my phone but that modem can get. Which version is yours? I read somewhere that it's now on version 3 already. Got green 5G indicator lights? Can share more info on DL/UL speeds?

QUOTE(hurricane21 @ Feb 8 2024, 04:20 PM) green is best signal red (no signal) > orange > yellow > green https://www.nokia.com/sites/default/files/2...-user-guide.pdfWah that means this router must be damn powderful lah, even low signal strength can still pull 400MBps ish speed is quite awesome dee. Ok, I'm definitely getting one. Thanks!

QUOTE(thankyou @ Feb 8 2024, 10:43 PM) but the settings are quite basic... can't lock the band... very heavy if you want to bring around... it comes with AU 3 pin plug... need UK plug converter I see. Noted on that. So does that mean I should splurge a little bit more and get Gteniq instead of the Fastmile? Modem SoC is the same on both devices, right?

QUOTE(thankyou @ Feb 11 2024, 09:31 PM) After few days of Nokia Fastmile usage, I can confirm non-band locking is really big no-no if your area is about 3 bar 5G signal. There's no way to re-establish 5G connection unless you reboot the router. So troublesome! Good to know! Thanks for the heads up. Might just go all out and buy the GtenIQ then.

QUOTE(papyrous @ Mar 12 2024, 06:38 PM) any idea about the quality of Oppo 5G CPE T2 & ZTE MC888? am overseas, have a chance to grab it if it is decent. The modem chipset and the antenna arrangement (for internal antenna) will give a clearer picture on which model to use.

QUOTE(scorgio @ Mar 10 2024, 11:05 AM) On my phone, I see 5G signal full bar (YES), but it kept switching between 5G & 4G (both full bar). On the other hand, UMobile 80% of the time stay on 5G. So do u think this Nokia Fastmile suitable for my house? Use YES 5G only on routers that can lock band, else you'll end up with 100GB 4G quota finished every month, and siput speed.

QUOTE(syque @ Mar 14 2024, 10:21 AM) Hi OP, what did you get in the end? Im currently also survey market.. either Arcadyn AW1000 or Gteniq. Someone mentioned Airtel X25 too. If you like to dabble with unlimited settings and future proofing firmware with OpenWRT = Arcadyan No frills easy to setup with minimal config required and great signal pulling capability = Olax G5018 / GtenIQ X55 Most affordable + branded + plug n play setup = Nokia Fastmile v1

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Mar 14 2024, 04:11 PM) how much does it cost for the gterniq 5g modem ? Market right now is somewhere around RM830-RM900, depending on seller. Sometimes, need to also look out for Shopee voucher that can give further discount to the original price. I got mine that time for just RM766 after RM120 Shopee discount.
