QUOTE(james2306 @ Aug 5 2024, 07:29 PM) Hello guys, My situation currently, have a warehouse in a shoplot in Prai area (Im in KL), confirm have strong 5G signal and speed now, last checked last week. Internet connection required for CCTV and minor office pc work only. Unifi says monthly usage under 30GB only. Been paying for unifi 136.xx for 2 years, contract ending this month. Thinking of moving to 5G wireless now to cut costs. Currently looking at Deco x50 5G to pair with YES of UHome5G. Question, does any other modem have deco's app like feature that i can remotely login to see uptime/users logged in info? I personally use deco ecosystem at home so im familiar with it. Deco is probably the only mainstream brand with a really robust and reliable app. That's why they are expensive these days. Nothing even come close in the router world.

QUOTE(christ14 @ Dec 21 2024, 04:47 PM) Thanks for the thread and sharing by all. My 3rd fiber contract ended. And i took the advice of some otais here albeit did my own research too Sim prepaid yes5g Modem gteniq Coverage good Building condo I havent been getting good signal. Its always yellow. And when i went into the modem, it seems to intermittent 5G band. Anyway i can lock the band or i have to find out yes using which band? Or i need better antennas to pull 5G. I have been experimenting in between rooms. Living room is the worst For condo if you staying high floors, 5G is almost guaranteed to be weak. That's because the antenna used by telcos are usually pointing slightly downwards. You can use an antenna but you need to point it right and usually need to install it outdoor. And no matter what you do, just remember that 5G is still wireless and it can never be as stable and consistent as fiber.

QUOTE(BOTAK_WAI @ Mar 20 2025, 12:54 PM) https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=110965390photo from shopee, buy from taobao much cheaper. refer to my post above. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « (Test it by yourself, info might not be accurate, just a rough idea for your reference) CON4/Main1 (top) - 4G Primary (connect to the antenna optimized for b28 700mhz) CON3/Div1 - 5G Diversity (connect to the antenna optimized for n78 3500mhz) CON2/Main2 - 5G Primary (connect to the antenna optimized for n78 3500mhz) CON1/Div2 (bottom) - 4G Diversity (connect to the antenna optimized for b28 700mhz) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Does it work well? My experience with China antenna many years ago is they pump out a ton of fake antenans Some will make it worst, some not doing anything at all, good ones are hard to find cause this thing is somewhat not legal to be sold to end user (grey area)

QUOTE(silverong @ Apr 25 2025, 01:33 PM) hi guy, i am using umobile prepaid and celcom postpaid on my phone but my place always getting not signal and sometime not even able to load any data. Fiber is not an option and hence, i plan to get a 5g router, any model recommended with good value? I do heard that some telco might ban the sim if not using via phone, do we know which telco already implement it? Or i must get a home brandband plan? Any plan to recommend too? Thanks. Uhm, sounds like your area is a signal dead zone. Are you sure you want to use 5G Internet? All the telco use the same 5G network.

QUOTE(silverong @ Apr 25 2025, 03:24 PM) yeah, deadzone, so just wondering if getting a 5g router it might get better reception. Since you mention only outdoor signal is good It's either you put 5G router outdoor or put 5G router indoor and use an outdoor antenna

QUOTE(Dweller @ Jun 14 2025, 10:20 AM) My area got good 5g reception. If I use cheap 2nd 5g phone, would it make sense? Anyone tried this option long term before? Use case: Connect smart TV Connect smart vacuum Connect zigbee smart home devices No wired ethernet required Total devices around 4-5 Connect your phone to an ASUS router with USB port they can support USB tethering But ideally just buy a 5G router, they are cheap these days and less hassle
