Dear all,

Help needed!

I am staying terrace house (own property). Last few months, a group of people moved in (they rent the unit). Problem arises where I found my room which sharing the same wall as theirs is too humid and some wooden furnitures grow mould. Worst, that sharing wall is cold all the time and sometimrs even sweat and water accumulated on my laminated wall.

Tried to talk to landlord, and talked to the tenant. Landlord said nothing he cando coz he cannot stop tenant from turning on aircon. Landlord sent the aircon man to service the aircon...but the problem is not solved. Talked to the tenant (who stays at that room), he insisted that he only switch on to 20/21 degree C. But i found the wall is too cold for that temperature.

Dare not to question the tenant much because they are staying with a group of foreigners (ladies) and they only went out for working late in the night.

Any suggestions how to solve this issue?

Already have one unit in the room. Sometimes no use and I have to ON my aircon to cold that wall so that the sweating stop.

Any way that I can report this local authority to interfere in this?

I noticed their aircon unit is installed on that shared wall. and normally the sweating starts at the area where the aircon unit was installed. could it be due to poor insulation of their copper pipe?

Make your room well ventilated and dry. Condensation does not happen solely if temperature is low, it is also because humidity is high. As some forumer had mention, dehumidify should solve it

If you want to permanently resolved the issue, just grout and isolated the wall from your end, satisfaction guaranteed 😁

Had the same issue previously with my neighbor, they say not their problem despite water seeping over from their bathroom 😤

Got my contractor to grout my side of the wall, never looked back since 😇

Interesting. Foreigner women that go work late at night. Might the house be used for something more sinful hence the AC always being on?

I'm having the same problem. Wall still possible to paint another layer as forumer advice, my is floor.

Staying at condo, lower floor neighbour almost on the aircon 24 hours. One part of my room floor will start wet and sometimes even have water during evening time.
Can't imagine how cold is their room.

Initially I thought it is crypto mining...but who else would place foreign young girls to monitor crypto mining. Then i realize they may work at pub or club. back every night 4am and makes hell of noise cooking.

i believe no one rent terrace house for crypto mining. was thinking to report for suspicious curi elektrik to tnb. but was advised not to dosturb muddy water.

I feel you bro. It is my daughter room and now i install a smart controller to monitor humidity in room. Once over 85%, will ON my aircon to dry the room instantly. Put a dehumidifier in room also useless.

talked to tenant and landlord tenant insisted them only on 20/21 C, landlord cannot do much too, he sent aircon man to service aircon.

will try to paint the sealer.

some measurments now:
1) always open my windows to allow ventilation. but during rainy days, the humid air from outside caused problem too.

2) always on dehumidifier. I understand some might argue room has to be closed while on dehumidifier. but someone is staying in that room. cannot be always closed.

3) bought smart controller and link between humidity sensor and aircon. once humidity level above 85%, aircon will be ON to dry the room to prevent condensation.
