Lexus, Acura, Infiniti. Why cant these top tier Japanese brands compete with western brands like bmw, Benz or even audi, what more to say porsche lambo McLaren.

Is it our asian engineering is poorer and western has better technology or we purposely produce inferior cars so that we can sell cheaper?

Toyota good quality. 20 years no problem.

Noo they can but they make their cars to be reliable. One of the most reliable cars . Volvo pre Ford , Geely made very strong reliable cars. Case in point the 240 GL red block was so under stressed that they eventually tune up the block over time.

One thing for sure jap cars cannot compete with conti cars when it comes to reliability. And giving the owners tow truck experiences

Japanese people makes things that is reliable and serves the purpose. If there are no problems with the system and technique, don't change it.

Mat Salleh on the other hand have very short span of attention. They want new nice looking products fast. This cancels the Japanese idea of making things last longer than it should. So their products will fail in an engineered manner so they could sell you their next product.

No one noticed this at all?

Most people here today adopted the Mat Salleh attitude of wanting it to look nice and fast. So they could brag they have the latest and willing to let it go after 3-5 years for the next newer thing.

Today even Japanese are not immune to the Mat Salleh ideology. Mat Salleh already engineered their products to fail at fixed time. McD ice cream machine is proof of that. And that is a COMMERCIAL product!!

Today Jap products isn't like the 80-90s. They are starting to engineer their products to fail at certain time frame too.

What do you mean Asian? Do you know that all those Japanese automakers u mentioned produce North American exclusive models other than Japanese ones? Their RnD plants are independent from that of Japanese, are they really 'our asian engineering'?

Actually it boils down to culture and philosophy.

It's the same as you compare JAV vs. angmoh porn. JAV they lean towards natural actresses (modern ones some plastic but traditionally mostly natural); western porn is always about the BOOM factor like big boobs and asses, all plastic to the max.

Back in the car world again, Lexus is subdued luxury, while western like BMW/Merc is bling bling luxury with roaring loud V8s

I once read a comment about European vs Japanese cars.

Both would be meticulously designed and engineered. However, the Japanese would take in consideration of their customers: the worst possible scenarios and habits such as rough driving, not serious about maintenance etc.

Japanese: "How would the worst drivers handle our car, lets take that into account."

Whereas the Europeans are like "fack you, we designed the cars this way, you follow our manual exactly to the letter. If anything goes wrong, it's obviously your fault for not following it."
