Western cars are notoriously fickle to maintain.
I once read a comment about European vs Japanese cars.
Both would be meticulously designed and engineered. However, the Japanese would take in consideration of their customers: the worst possible scenarios and habits such as rough driving, not serious about maintenance etc.
Japanese: "How would the worst drivers handle our car, lets take that into account."
Whereas the Europeans are like "fack you, we designed the cars this way, you follow our manual exactly to the letter. If anything goes wrong, it's obviously your fault for not following it."
