Its because of culture!

Japanese people makes things that is reliable and serves the purpose. If there are no problems with the system and technique, don't change it.

Mat Salleh on the other hand have very short span of attention. They want new nice looking products fast. This cancels the Japanese idea of making things last longer than it should. So their products will fail in an engineered manner so they could sell you their next product.

No one noticed this at all?

Most people here today adopted the Mat Salleh attitude of wanting it to look nice and fast. So they could brag they have the latest and willing to let it go after 3-5 years for the next newer thing.

Today even Japanese are not immune to the Mat Salleh ideology. Mat Salleh already engineered their products to fail at fixed time. McD ice cream machine is proof of that. And that is a COMMERCIAL product!!

Today Jap products isn't like the 80-90s. They are starting to engineer their products to fail at certain time frame too.
