Thermal paste wont solve your problem unless old one really dried out. You can either add thermal pad mod if your chassis is metal but prepare to feel very hot on the bottom, which you can use laptop fan cooler. All this won't make big difference. If you don't need performance can tweak the power settings to not use max performance when plugged.
