At the height of Qing Dynasty in the 17th century, China has the largest population in the world at around 400 million. Today, China’s population is 1.4 billion and 400 million population is like the US only today.

Don’t forget they got great famine in the 60s and lots of people dead during cultural revolution too.

India population in the 1800s was only about 180 million. Today, its population is eve higher than China’s close to 1.5 billion.

Then we have the problem of unequal birth rates. Places like Japan which definitely need higher birth rates are having declining birth rates while places like Bangladesh Rohingya birth rates uncontrollably.

The unequal birth rates are worse. China at least can take care of its population but you have places like Bangladesh where majority are below poverty line. Then we have people like Rohingya who don’t even have a nation but breeding like rabbits. So unfair to nations like Japan that should have higher population.

If there are no 1 child policy, what do you think is the population of China today? How much resources China need to take care of a population larger than 1.4 billion. By the way, 1 child policy was Deng’s idea and was started in 1979 after Mao is already dead.

Like I say before, even with the so called wars, famine and death in the 20th century, China’s population still exploded after CCP won the civil war. Why? Despite all the flaws of Mao rule, people forgot that education and general healthcare of people in China still improved.

China’s population during the height of Qing Dynasty was around 450 million only. It more than doubled in the 20th century especially after WW2. After CCP took over in 1949, its population increased from about 500 million to around 1 billion in 1980. Even with 1 child policy, its population still grew another 400 million.

No 1 child policy, China’s population today is probably close to 2 billion and you will be the first to complain 2 billion zombies, right!

I don’t think it’s mandatory 1 child policy like China where the penalty is very high. When it’s not mandatory, people will ignore. However, when it’s strict like China, some people say it’s inhumane and China killed millions of babies.

Which part contradicts myself? I was stating facts about China populations growth.

You are the one who say China killed millions babies due to its 1 child policy. You even say Mao was responsible together with Deng for the 1 child policy but it was clearly Deng’s idea as it was introduced after Mao died. Die already still he can make decisions? LOL!

My question to you is simple. If China did not have 1 child policy, what do you think is China’s population today?
