Go imika. I see many of their banner promote laptop under 1k. But donno price spec legit or not

Got plenty option , but those model can use afterlife saja wo . I donno la maybe got restrictions on race also not sure how it works.

New one cant la. Go find used one on Carousell. My recommendation Huawei Matebook but buy the one with ryzen 5 or i5 instead of i3. Got few seller selling under RM 1300. Nego a bit can get RM 1k I guess. Been using this laptop as alternative for my macbook cause sometimes need to use power BI since 2019 without any problem. But last time I bought from Amazon US (at the time still not selling Malaysia). Not sure lah if local stocks same in terms of reliability but should be same.

Saw this on shopee - Refurbished T490 8th Gen Intel. As good as they come for the price.

My recent get.

Dell Latitude 5490 with i5 8th gen for 600 bucks.

Add another 400 for 16GB DDR4 2400 RAM & 512GB NVME M.2 + 500GB SATA without the 2.5 inch case. The laptop has both NVME and SATA connectors on the mobo. U either use NVME M.2 or SATA 2.5 inch. I used both by cracking open the 2.5 inch case and extract the drive mobo. Now I have both drives working and detected in the BIOS.

Unfortunately, the LCD is not FHD. I later upgraded to FHD by harvesting the LCD from another old Dell Latitude E7440 which I got it for parts at 100 bucks.

bought refurbished thnkpad before, not this shop. there's a deep gash on the LCD panel. it was cheap tho for it's performance

Never bought refurbished myself but did help a buddy to get quite a few he wanted to donate to charities. U can't go wrong with TPs just need to fit ur budget. 8th Gen and above is a must.

Less then 1.5k also got hope just u need spend some time survey . Before buying new lappy I been to few shop that specialise in refurbished lappy one , condition all quite okay ( 3 year old lappy but condition don't look like been used for 3 year ) spec also not bad . This type of shop they buy in bulk from corporate that want to upgrade Thier lappy one hence u will see alot same model in shop .

old AutoCAD 2002 runs just fine, not talking about new up to date software.

things that you always use, you should not use cheap ones, else you will be extremely inefficient most of the time.

Power bi is easy to learn? You apply at which section of your work?

Im a data analyst. Mostly use power bi to create dashboard. Can extract data directly from db without limit so better than excel haha.

General microsoft office work only, with occassional video viewing.

Word, excel, gmail, youtube rinse and repeat.

you can get a brand new low-end laptop or a used mid-end laptop. if u plan to use it temporarily, get the used mid-end like i5 processor laptop.

My office 2.5k to 3k for Dell laptops. Nowadays 8gb ram also barely enough for engineering works. Please get i5, our admin use i3 very slow even for microsoft office works.

See, my biggest fear is lagging and looooong waiting time for something to boot.

For example, if I open microsoft power point, I dont want to wait half a minute for the slides to show.

And I dont want the laptop to lag when I open 8 tabs on google, a pdf file and a word file and whatsapp.

Any reccomended spec to avoid such problem ?

when u buy laptop u ask 1st can still upgrade ram? if can then just double the ram size. if they willing to do it free good la. spec wise, just buy the one with i5 processor. dun buy gaming laptop bcoz it will become heaty very fast. then if can, a few months u send to kedai ask them to vacuum the dust inside

Work laptop is more expensive than consumer laptop if u go for reliable ones like Thinkpad T/X and Latitude. If ur budget is only RM1,000 u need to go for refurbished models with warranty.

If u r looking for new with that budget, I can only as they cost 5-10x more, new. China brands is your only recourse. May be u can have luck with lower specs Lenovo consumer laptops...

Top up a bit can buy M3 Max MacBook 16”.
