is this even coming to Malaysia? laugh.gif
waiting for mt07 and xsr900 also never come

i think latest mt09 v3 got frame issue where some bike has its frame just split into two
recently also got recall for mt09 and tracer 9

other than overpriced (in malaysia) I think they do make solid bikes

splitting issue, mostly comes from 2 events
- accident
- slider kene rembat (slider attaches to the engine mounting screw and the engine itself lends to its structural integrity) so no screw, wheelie, slam wheel, piaaakkkkk
so far malaysia afaik, both events pernah kene... slider kes, not sure if kene rembat or came off on its own

recall, to do with tuning, and i guess the o2 sensor connector. its not properly weatherproofed, so when it rains, theres a chance water gets in and suddenly u cannot start the bike till it dries out

theres actually a 3rd issue. its god dem ugly. with the rear fender, its ugliness is further pronounced.

to be very honest, the look has grown on me. the theme is naked, and it really suits.

and yes, i lagi x suka the v4 design. 2v cantik, its the only model i would call good looking.

My thoughts on yamaha in general...be it big or small bikes.

They engineer really, really good bikes....but they build it with cheap parts

nah not that bad.... i think the built on the more expensive bikes are 'better-ish' things like the switch gear all feel nicer, but same can be said about almost every other manufacturer out there. u basically get what u pay for

**that said, not sure how it compares to the more modern chinese bikes... i have seen the clx700 and honestly it was a really appealing package. built seemd pretty good for the pricepoint

cfmoto can consider exception for china brand stereotype.. the switchgear and cover set fitting on the 800nk and 800mt are pretty good.

even qjmotor srk600 isnt that bad tbh, but you can definitely feel the 'china'

some us fellas already got to poke about.... main frame accordingly other than a plugged hole, seems to be the same, but the rear frame (bolted on section) is all diferent

imolah long as u dont crash, frame will work fine, hit hard enough most modern bikes will give. this fella the frame is rather exposed. if pecah during accident, i suppose thats where insurance will serve its purpose. Price to pay for that light body i suppose.

the other bigish bike that is on paper heavy but seems to do well is that suzuki 8s

so happens that, the sliders typically make use of the engine mounting bolt locations to mount the sliders (fairly common, nothing too unusual) so once the sliders get stolen, theres nothing holding the engine in from the front (which i believe takes the most stress when u come off a wheelie)

the engine is an integral part of the chassis, take one look at the structure and i think you can understand why once its nolonger bolted on peoperly, its bound to fail. Its actually a common design these days allows manufacturers to produce lighter frames.

so far no regrets getting it, engine reliable and puts out way way more power than i ever need, its comfortable to ride, its light, just ugly

I think you're saying the engine is a 'stressed member' of the whole chassis
MT09 is not like that

XJ6, and a bunch of Ducati's are like that

here's comparing MT10 and MT09 engine section of the frame
