update on scooter stator failure:
- continuity test on stator shows short to ground... so I suspect the stator already burn and touching the coil body and then grounded to the bike, causing weak charging (average 12.5V, max 13.8V after hours of riding)
- voltmeter on 3 phase stator output is 42VAC unloaded (coil is output fine when not grounded)
- when connected to rectifier, loaded output is 5VAC (too low) and rectifier output is 7VDC up to 12.8VDC (too low)
- surveryed around, and found compatible stator

Parts ordered from triumph hatyai. Cheaper than triumph malaysia even after conversion. About 30% cheaper.


Take 5 days to arrive and it's only half an hour from my office.


The shims I used.

Actually certain components like shims can be really cheap if you take your time to source for it.

For example, KTM shims for my NK were 50 a pop. CFmoto ones are 10 a pop. Generic ones are 5 a pop.

Not sure about the generic ones, but the KTM and Cfmoto ones are identical as both KTM and Cfmoto LC8C are manufactured in the same.plant.

Not much can be saved with a gasket though. I just replaced all of mine when I did the VC. Of course I supplied the parts.

About 15hp more i think....along with other changes.

The v1k peanut was always meant to be a test bike to see if i could enjoy a bike like a versys coz i cant tour on the z9 anymore as its quite a painful experience nowadays n also my knee hurt like crazy.

The plans was always try out the peanut a year or 2...n if good n i can jive with it n enjoy it....  sell both n buy a brand new v1k....but now that the v11 is out...go for that la.

Z9 still wins in fun factor though.

friends recommended the caltex techron fuel system cleaner.


i bought the car version since it's on sale and used it 4 times. there's one for bike and it's 75ml, the one for cars is 355ml.
before this was using the cheap STP and liqui moly cleaner that i share with my car.
how much for the triumph original filters? i've been using putoline HF204 since forever

After months of trying to figure whats making crazy vibration at the footpegs.
It reveals itself, a crack at the exhaust manifold.
And remove the secondary cats at the same time.

My bike is now developing a weird high speed wobble issue.
Never happen before this even with pannier and topbox.

Now it wobbles above 160 with pannier and above 180 with no pannier and no topbox.
Trying to pinpoint the issue.

Changed the rear tyre bearings since there's some slight grinding when I feel it by hand. Still wobble.


Checked and cleaned the fork seals. Still wobble.

Next gonna change the steering cone / head bearings. Some slight grinding.
If that doesn't work then will change the front tyre.
Rear tyre is still new.
