Change my bike headlights from normal halogen to some LEDs bought from shopee. Result is quite good.
Pictures were taken on the same shutter speed, iso, white balance to show the difference in brightness

QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 15 2024, 10:25 AM)
update on scooter stator failure:
- continuity test on stator shows short to ground... so I suspect the stator already burn and touching the coil body and then grounded to the bike, causing weak charging (average 12.5V, max 13.8V after hours of riding)
- voltmeter on 3 phase stator output is 42VAC unloaded (coil is output fine when not grounded)
- when connected to rectifier, loaded output is 5VAC (too low) and rectifier output is 7VDC up to 12.8VDC (too low)
- surveryed around, and found compatible stator

it seems my scooter shares stator coil with Honda CBR929RR

should I order one from shopee?

I saw in before in fb got people do coil repair service, maybe you can ask around in bike groups.

Buying from shopee could work too I guess if you can find a trusted seller.

Parts ordered from triumph hatyai. Cheaper than triumph malaysia even after conversion. About 30% cheaper.

Take 5 days to arrive and it's only half an hour from my office.

i noticed that parts in thailand is much cheaper too.. but no way to get it unless you live close haha
did you order directly by walking to the dealer or went through online ordering then collect at the dealer?
would be nice if we can order parts at triumph thailand website

Actually certain components like shims can be really cheap if you take your time to source for it.

For example, KTM shims for my NK were 50 a pop. CFmoto ones are 10 a pop. Generic ones are 5 a pop.

Not sure about the generic ones, but the KTM and Cfmoto ones are identical as both KTM and Cfmoto LC8C are manufactured in the same.plant.

my mistake when doing vc last time was not asking the shop if the gasket i had inside still usable, just told them to replace it and looking at the gasket after replacement it is still usable laugh.gif
maybe could've asked them to use generic shim too

lesson learnt

Not much can be saved with a gasket though. I just replaced all of mine when I did the VC. Of course I supplied the parts.
*
I tried to find the gasket by myself and only manage to find it through UK website.. needless to say it is way more expensive than what the shop quoted.
Really want that thailand supply chain contact for conti bike to get things cheaper laugh.gif

About 15hp more i think....along with other changes.

The v1k peanut was always meant to be a test bike to see if i could enjoy a bike like a versys coz i cant tour on the z9 anymore as its quite a painful experience nowadays n also my knee hurt like crazy.

The plans was always try out the peanut a year or 2...n if good n i can jive with it n enjoy it....  sell both n buy a brand new v1k....but now that the v11 is out...go for that la.

Z9 still wins in fun factor though.

ah your current versys is the old gen one.. makes sense then

friends recommended the caltex techron fuel system cleaner.
user posted image

i bought the car version since it's on sale and used it 4 times. there's one for bike and it's 75ml, the one for cars is 355ml.
before this was using the cheap STP and liqui moly cleaner that i share with my car.
how much for the triumph original filters? i've been using putoline HF204 since forever
*
does this fuel system cleaner really work?
when to know if your bike need it or not? hmm.gif

I've seen some vids on people taking out the fuel injector and clean it.
But it also makes sense to just pour into the fuel tank and let it clean itself... hmm.gif

After months of trying to figure whats making crazy vibration at the footpegs.
It reveals itself, a crack at the exhaust manifold.
And remove the secondary cats at the same time.

My bike is now developing a weird high speed wobble issue.
Never happen before this even with pannier and topbox.

Now it wobbles above 160 with pannier and above 180 with no pannier and no topbox.
Trying to pinpoint the issue.

Changed the rear tyre bearings since there's some slight grinding when I feel it by hand. Still wobble.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Checked and cleaned the fork seals. Still wobble.

Next gonna change the steering cone / head bearings. Some slight grinding.
If that doesn't work then will change the front tyre.
Rear tyre is still new.

Maybe check the rear/front wheels if they are balanced? probably need to re-true or add weight
