I used DHL and UPS before. Worst case was DHL charge me service fee for getting my stuff through customs... the service fee was so much more higher than the tax itself D:

UPS, just got a DSLR for a friend, no tax and reached quite fast also.

How's things going on at the fest?

Hopefully they won't tax you ^^. If you're shipping through normal airmail (ie. Play-Asia free shipping), chances are you'll get taxed from what I've seen, heard and experienced. You collect airmail parcels from the Pending Pos Malaysia Mail Depot. If you're shipping through EMS, you're chances of getting through without being taxed is higher, because you can negotiate with the customs officer at the Poslaju Centre (Also at Pending nearby the bridge).

Packages are released at KL and are only held here locally, if you're unlucky to get taxed ^^" They'll either send you a yellow slip (For both Airmail and EMS) or call you up if you specified your local contact number (EMS only).

Generally, the customs officer at the Mail Depot will definitely try to tax you. For EMS, they'll also try to tax you, but like in leoboom's case, you can argue with them about the 'for EMS, less than rm500 item value = no tax' I know the customs officers at the Poslaju Centre very well, so often times they let me off without getting taxed Or they charge me less on the tax. No duit kopi involved ^^

Btw, we're having some sort of figurine collector's gathering for those in Kuching. Probably get around to lim teh and talk figure stuff.
