I've been using the 12 for about three weeks, but I've noticed one bug. When I'm connected to mobile data and then go underground (like in a car park or an area with no connectivity), the phone doesn't reconnect to mobile data once I return to an area with stable connectivity. It only reconnects after I restart the phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I've tried resetting the APN, but that didn't solve it either.

What telco are you on? Im on Maxis and Celcom Digi. Never faced such issues.

Could be something to do with the Telco also. I have U Mobile also and I cannot say Im satisfied with their network coverage and data speeds.

just curious why most flash to oxygen os when colorOS is working fine for CN set ?
*
Because we are long time true blue Oneplus users. Oxygen os it must be.

Haha.. The good ol' 1+1. nod.gif

I actually got it from the shop after they were availalbe. Those who did the pre order thing and got it shipped back from overseas were the early adopters.

I never like to DIY install SP on curve screen, bought 2 as well, at the end sent it to shop, after failed to install both on my pixel

Thinking of getting OP12 replacing my pixel

Question
The pre install SP out of the box, not good enough.?
*
Same here. I don't install myself because Im not confident of doing a good job. Leave it to the professionals.

The Pre Installed SP out of the box works fine. But just that after prolonged usage, there would be fine scratches on it and the sides will start to bubble. So its time to replace the SP.

Not going for TG because the reviews after installing TG wasn't that good. Many complained of the edges of the screen becoming not sensitive to touch and the fingerprint unlock became a hit and miss affair.

Sharing my experience.

I bought OP12 China version that comes with ColorOS. I read that China model flashed with OxygenOS cannot be updated OTA. So I just give ColorOS a try.

I like  that I can uninstall almost every single app (except the essential ones like Phone, Messages, Photos, App Market, etc). I can add them back via Settings -> Apps -> Recover system apps.

I enabled Google Play Services, and Google Playstore gets installed automatically. I don't need to download separate APK. I replaced all app with Google Apps, and all works great. Even Work Profile works fine too. I don't have Android Auto supported player, so couldn't try, but I was able to install it, and it appears in Settings -> Connection & Sharing.

So far so good! Looks like I don't need OxygenOS, since it's just a toned-down version of ColorOS. For RM3.1K with charger and casing, it's very hard to justify for Malaysia set at RM4K++, with no charger.
*
Nice little review there on Color OS. thumbsup.gif

But there are a few corrections that need to be made.

No1. Chinese models of the Oneplus 12 flashed to Oxygen OS can be updated OTA.

No2. Apparently Android Auto is not supported on the current version of ColorOS as per reported by users of the Oneplus 12 on Color OS. (This I have not tried myself as my set was flashed to Oxygen Os before being shiooed to me).

Yup. It totally makes no sense to pay Rm1K++ more for a Malaysian set which doesn't not even come with the VOCC charging brick out of the box.

For No.1, I did not verify this myself. I asked few seller in Shopee, and they told me cannot update via OTA. Good to know! Perhaps I should flash it to OxygenOS myself.
*
Yes. If you are in the know how. thumbsup.gif

I flashed to OxygenOS using this guide: https://tradingshenzhen.com/en/content/onep...os-to-oxygen-os

It was a success, and you're right. I successfully updated to July 2024 OTA. Running on EU.

It looked pretty much like ColorOS without all the Chinese app, but with Google apps/services. Interesting indeed!
*
Nice. If you follow all the steps correctly its not too hard no....?

Its the Chinese apps that we want to get rid off. Google apps and services is also one of main our priority.

Flashed OxygenOS. Work profiles worked great!

After flashed to OxygenOS, factory reset will still be OxygenOS.
*
Of course. You are already on Oxygen OS. After factory reset will still be on Oxygen OS.

If you want revert to Color OS you would have to flash back to Color OS.

Seems like OP12 would still be the best choice for Flagship Android phones for now. Not many willing to pay Rm5k and above for a Pixel XL or a Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Can share which seller? Heard about cases where phones are locked, and seller refused to ' unlock'..and phone issue, seller refused to help in claiming warranty.

Go through the thread. There is a popular seller here with good after sales and service.

Not that I notice. For the improvements can go through the changelog. Just a minor update though.
