Nothing wrong with them asking.

However, they also need to understand that no F&B establishment is required to be halal. Law only states that any F&B needs to apply for licnese and be certified to be halal. Whether the company wants to be halal certified or not is entirely up to the management.

If it's non halal, then obviously all Muslims should avoid it.
