I got this error, saying my AMD-V is incompatible with VMware. Looks like must use Intel VT-x.

Can VMware Player emulate ARM on a x86 CPU?

I know QEMU can (with qemu-system-arm or qemu-system-aarch64). But from what I googled, VirtualBox cannot emulate ARM on a x86 CPU.

VMware cant, just forget about it. Virtualbox is x86 exclusive.

you can try other GUI that build around qemu

Check your mainboard BIOS/UEFI configurations and look for :-

1. VT-x
2. VT-d

Enable both of these features.

If the above is not available, then the system unable to support any virtualization irregardless which Virtualization Platform you use (eg. VMWare, VirtualBox, Xen, Hyper-V etc.).

If the above requirements are enabled, then you might need to use an older version that supports your current CPU. As you are using "VMWare WorkStation 17 Player" maybe you try older version like "16" instead.

Note: you cannot run 2 virtualizations platform together on a single host (eg. both VMWare & VirtualBox), this will crashes the host due to resources prioritization & usages.

Hope this helps...  cool2.gif

If your pc has enough ram, you can run both but just forget VMWare player, it hasnt been working correctly for months, it throws more error than Virtualbox/Hyper-v and the error is usually unfixable.

Virtualbox works great and works fine together with WLS
i could probably add hyper-v too

Would suggest Intel for compatibility and stability.

If WSL/Hyper-V and Virtualbox works fine with AMD
there is something very wrong with VMware itself,
it's not related to CPU.
