Hi guys, I just got an offer to free upgrade from 500 to 800, with 3 months bill waiver. It will come with WiFi 6 combo box, which is modem+wifi in one box. If not mistaken, my existing ZTE modem should be able to easily support 800 with the 1Gbps port. So can I just ask them to do nothing to my setup? I am running a custom setup which uses EdgerouterX as router, and a pair of Deco X68 in AP mode.

Yes can. When the installer come you just tell them to not setup. As long as he do speed test which reaches the subscribed speed, record it in the restoration form, it's consider done. Probably he will just past you the combo router in a box for you to keep.
You may also ask him to setup the combo router but after that plug back the old ONU.

That's nice. The technician can plug his laptop into my EdgerouterX and do speed test .

You can just ask technician to setup the ONR to work as ONR or bridge as ONU. Then keep it as plug and play backup ONU or ONR.

Good idea. I have another question though. The lady on the call said that the wifi6 combo has 12 months warranty. Does it mean that if it fail after 12 months, I will need to pay? Even though the modem part of the combo should be TM responsibility?
