I just got the upgrade last Saturday. Got the black DLink ONR with 2.5gbe port.

Asked the technician to setup in router mode. After making sure the router is can connect to internet and working independently, I save the DLink router config setting into my PC.

Then I asked them to switch to bridge mode and connect to my much stronger existing Asus router. Then save the Dlink bridge config setting as well.
So now I use the DLink ONR as bridge but if necessary aka Asus router kaput, I can temporary switch the ONR to router mode and reload the working configuration back, so no need reconfigure the DLink ONR for direct all in one internet connection for this emergency purpose. Then once Asus router is up, switch back to bridge mode and if necessary, reload the saved working ONR bridge config setting back.

Of course if DLink ONR kaput, I can still hook back the old Huawei modem to my Asus.
Contingency plan in case either the ONR or Asus router kaput.

What's the model no of your Dlink ONR? Able to hit 1Gbps on LAN?

Got a call for the upgrade from my old 800Mbps Turbo but not sure whether to maintain my Huawei ONU or upgrade to the all-in-one ONR, since I just did a quick check that for LAN it is maxed at 940Mbps, but then saw your post with ONR with 2.5Gbe port, is this the newer and latest ONR by TM?

I will try to see whether can get the DLink 2.5Gbe, set it up as a bridge mode to my 2.5G wired backhaul. If some here says by setting up the ONE as bridge mode would still limit the speed to 940Mbps is true then might as well use my Huawei BTU back and keep the DLink as spare part until next and newer ONU comes.

TM tecnician came and setup the D-Link 3060V with updated firmware of v2.0.3 now in Bridge mode to my Asus router.

Able to hit more than 2Gbps on download and just shy of 1000Mbps for upload. Will monitor the performance of the D-Link.

I just noticed that with 2Gbps i got an external IP starts with number 1.XX.XXX.XXX

Hopefully somebody will keep update here on the latest firmware update for the D-Link if perhaps got newer version or something.

Yes and that is why I am asking if any forumer here got upgrade to 2gbps instead of 1gbps?

I got 2Gbps from my old Turbo package 800Mbps back in 2018 (when it was last upgraded for free) after discussion with TM personnel at TM Point nearby of my place plus 3 months free. AFAIK, those who got these 2Gbps upgrade (from 800Mbps) are the ones who have been paying TM RM200+ bills and no less.

800Mbps turbo upgrade get 1Gbps while paying RM 200.35 monthly but why I didn’t get 2Gbps? Johor area

RM200 and above just for the package excluding the 8% tax. You can try and go nego but I dont think they would entertain those paying below RM200 but wanting the 2Gbps free upgrade. They'd offer the standard 500Mbps (1Gbps free speed upgrade at RM150+ instead for bills below RM200.) I know some guys who got 800Mbps Turbo package last time were lucky that they managed to get the 800 Turbo upgrade while paying less than RM180 but these guys wont get the 2Gbps one as per the current SWU4.0.

from 800mbps free upgrade (no contract) to 1gbps
hmmmm.. any chance shall i nego for 2gbps?

since you are paying them more than RM200, i think you should try nego with them. physically go to tmpoint and not via their online CS.

If I'm not mistaken, before the Free Speed Upgrade program started in October 2023.
There were a few 800Mbps users in the Klang Valley who were randomly selected to get a speed upgrade to 2Gbps
No any additional charges.

At that time, TM select a few users with a monthly RM200/300 and above  hmm.gif

yes i believe so. however now you can opt to nego if you have been paying more than RM200 and are not in contract with them, meaning to say that there's a chance that you'd be able to be upgraded to 2Gbps (subject to them actually checking your subscription and payment record though, result wont be on the spot). Below RM200, dream on. Maybe a select few got the deals in the very early stage of SWU4.0 yes, but now, dont think so. if youre paying below RM200 and insist to get 2Gbps and threaten to terminate your line, they'd offer you 500Mbps (1Gbps speed upgrade with 6-month waiver) at "varied price", usually at around RM150+ standard and if that doesnt make you satisfy with their offer then highly likely they'll let you go.

800 Turbo with bill less than RM180 in the past few years, then counter offer by them to 1Gbps with 6 month waiver, @RM150+- it's still a win-win.
