Hi All,

I got Unifi Fiber 300mbps. The guy said will give me Dlink but just notice it is Fiberhome AX3000.
(My fault, didn't ask him after the installation. Not in the right mind that time)

I google and found the MESH setup video which need to put the 2 router 8 meter apart.

Question.
Can I just buy another Fiberhome AX300o to create the MESH ?

My scenario is I need to put the 2nd router at the attic so that upper-floor user can connect.
I already have the network cable pulled.

Can I use the Network cable to connect both router to create the MESH setup ?

Of course. That's the best setup ever. Many people wish they can use those setup (using cable to connect between mesh routers).

Great. Thanks for the info.

By the way, do I use the TM Guide which pair the router using the WIFI to set up the MESH first then use cable to connect later ?

Mine is 300mbps.

Just noticed I can't remotely connect to my CCTV.

Call 100 reported the problem. Within 2 hours, TM Unifi called and asked for the CCTV Serial number, Network Settings, and CCTV photo (Optional).
They will forward to Engineering to change the IP.

I haven't been using TM Broadband for many years. (Switched to TIME).

But I am impressed and happy that TM Unifi responds so fast nowadays.

I would say their customer service has improved A LOT and every time I called, they seemed well trained and friendly.
Not like Streamyx time.

Yep. I follow the tracert command in V41, indeed I am given private IP.
Hopefully, they will switch the IP.

Right

My latest contact via Live Chat back in October was also met with someone really helpful and got my request properly addressed

But also sometimes luck plays a part because might also be getting one with robot reply which does no help rather than just repeating what the FAQ says

BTW what motivated you to switched from TIME as many kept saying TIME > TM in terms of quality but of course I do see ppl complaining about their TIME downtime also very terrible
*
Well. No choice. Condo > landed. Even though my house is just opposite the road, TIME doesn't serve landed.

TIME is the first I called. tongue.gif

TM just called and asked to reset router + gateway. IP now changed to 175.

But I still can't connect to my CCTV remotely.

Need help here.
Anything I need to do on the router, like port forwarding or something?

I just noticed something, I have the same CCTV still connected to TIME Internet at my condo.
Once I connect to TM Unifi Wifi, I can't remote access and view the CCTV anymore.
I off the phone's Wifi and use 4G/5G, then can access it.

Your Unifi private IP protects your CCTV system from hackers, but it also means you need a new way to access them remotely. Two options: set up a VPN (secure tunnel to your network) by using a third-party VPN provider that can be set up in your home router or subscribe to a cloud-based CCTV solution (remote viewing and recording). VPN requires tech setup, cloud has fees - choose what best fits your skills and budget.

Some IP addresses in the IP prefix 175.0.0.0/24 are not private. Today, Unifi assigned me a public IP address as an 800 Mbps Unifi user, which is within that prefix. If my IP address is private, I won't be able to access my router and NAS remotely.

I called 100 and complained problem tak selesai.
Now they re-assign 110.x.x.x.

Still same. Sigh.

If I understand you correctly, you can access your CCTV fine when using 4G.
When you said you cannot access with TM Unifi, you mean you cannot access it from the same house as your CCTV right?
If that's the case, your router does not support Hairpin NAT.

As far as TM is concerned, it's not their problem. As far as setup is concerned, you are doing it right.

Maybe use a local IP address when you are at home?
*
HOUSE A
IP CCTV -> TM Router
Phone -> TM Router
No problem accessing the CCTV via app

IP CCTV -> TM Router
Phone -> 4G/5G
Cannot access the CCTV via app
---------------------------------------------------
HOUSE B
IP CCTV -> TIME Internet
Phone -> 4G/5G
No problem accessing the CCTV via app

IP CCTV -> TIME Internet
Phone -> TM Router (House A)
Cannot access the CCTV via app

Router is TM Fiberhome AX3000.

OK this makes it clear what's your situation.

For HOUSE A:
Post your DDNS setup and port forwarding setup

For HOUSE B:
Post how you setup your CCTV app

Do both house use the exact same CCTV setup?
*
House A (TIME Internet)
D-LINK AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud Router
I bought the same brand CCTV for testing before moving to House B.
Didn't do any setup on the router.
Just plug in the IP CCTV, and connect it to Wifi. Add into the app on my phone.
I can access the CCTV whether I am at home or outside using mobile data.

House B ( TM Unifi)
Fiberhome AX3000
Didn't do any setup on the router.
Just plug in the IP CCTV, and connect it to Wifi. Add into the app on my phone.
I can access the CCTV at home when connected to Wifi only.
If I connect to this Wifi, I cannot access the CCTV at House A.

There is 2 different on mobile network and Tm network.

1. routing
2. DNS

Maybe check both issues first?
Try use 1.1.1.1 as VPN and see can this issues resolved. hmm.gif

If issues solved, then know it is DNS or routing issues, else, need more troubleshoot.

Sorry to say that the TIME router I got is almost 10 years old.
Now I am blank on how to maneuver the new router setup page.
And I have no idea what is all this.
1_INTERNET_R_VID_500
2_Other_B_VID_600
3_Other_B_VID_400
4_TR069_R_VID_209

And I can't find any VPN option in this Fiberhome AX3000 router.

Do you mind explaining how to setup the VPN ? Thanks.

Also, I am thinking to bring the D-LINK AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Cloud Router from House A and try it in House B.
Not sure whether it will work for TM Unifi since it meant to use for TIME Internet.

Mind giving me the CCTV make and model?
Do you have a recorder or it's just the camera itself with SD card?
*
I am using Srihome SH025 1080P FHD CCTV and SP028 1080P FHD CCTV.
No recorder. This is just Camera with SD card only.

because TM Fiberhome AX3000 crappy wont work port forward
get you own router asus or tplink then make port forward then settle
*
Well. I was thinking of buying the TP-Link AX55 for a mesh setup.
But now need to know whether the problem is the router or TM backend.

Else spend money to buy a new router but still cannot remote access CCTV then it's pointless.

Hi, I am just guessing here so you need to try to find the setting.

In your Fiberhome, can you find anything that says UPnP or ALG or any similarly sounding term? Try to turn them ON.
UPnP = Universal Plug and Play
ALG = Application Layer Gateway

Or... Just turn OFF anything that says FIREWALL.

I am thinking your camera don't work on Fiberhome because it cannot open the port automatically using UPnP.
Why you cannot access your TIME camera on Fiberhome is because this camera use RTSP to stream video and the Fiberhome don't support ALG.

Do notification works? Like motion detection and all?

Also did you try updating the firmware for your camera?

Thank you Sir !!!

Now found where is the problem.

I think I changed the Level to "High".

After I change back to "Medium", all CCTV can access already.

THANK YOU EVERYONE who replied and provided your ideas.

THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!!

Important thing say 3 times.

Well. Seems like a user problem. (which is me, hahaha)

Something that came to my mind.

I just received my phone bill, RM 20+ for calling 100.
Even though I spent 1 hours+ on the phone with the TM agent, I didnt yell or shout at them.
I was explaining the problem again and again and sometimes she got me wrong, I stayed calm.
Even helped her to write the problem description in the ticket word by word.

And now ME, MYSELF is the problem, at least I didn't feel bad.
