Today unifi called to ask me confirm the 1gbps upgrade. I guess i should keep my current router? Don't think the new combo router offer anything better.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 27 2024, 11:01 AM) Wait, they are giving Skyworth for 1Gbps users now? 1Gbps users should be getting the D-Link with 2.5G LAN port. I did the upgrade last Saturday. The installer gave me the black dlink router with 2.5g port.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Aug 27 2024, 11:36 AM) Me same time upgrade. After 1 or 2 days (don't know when exactly), the bandwidth drop permanently to 300+Mbps under ookla speedtest using bridging. Have to reboot after get reminded by other posters on yesterday, to recover the speed back to 900+Mbps. Do you do bridging? if yes, after a couple of days, did the bandwidth drop? I will try to do the bridging later. I am still using my huawei onu.

QUOTE(countingcrows @ Aug 27 2024, 09:46 PM) 10 digits would be your PLOAM or ONU password. I also took a photo of my 6 digit VOIP password. Hmm the installer never gave me my voip password. Can ask from tm through phone? Do i need it to use the voip phone?

QUOTE(countingcrows @ Aug 27 2024, 10:14 PM) Not sure if can ask through phone. Try calling the TM contractor who came to install. You don't need it to use your phone if your phone is already set up. I got it just in case I wanted to go the GPON stick route. Previously, I only had my PPPOE pwd. So this time, I got the PLOAM or they call it ONU pwd and the VOIP pwd when the TM contractor came over. Good to hear as my phone is already setup. I will try the dlink over the weekend just to see if everything works.

QUOTE(kwss @ Aug 29 2024, 01:14 PM) I'm surprised I got upgraded from 800 Mbps straight to 2 Gbps. I got symmetrical speed on a 1G port, the installer order shows my package as 2 Gbps. I'm still connected to the same OLT port (same MAC address) and BNG. Paying 189 right now You should make offering to the gods and go buy magnum.

I got the black d link to bridge with my router but I need the VOIP password in order for my cordless phone to work.
Guess I need to get it from TM somehow.

QUOTE(kwss @ Aug 31 2024, 01:19 AM) Shouldn't the installer configure the VOIP for you in the D-Link? It should work regardless of bridge or router mode. Calling 100 won't get you the PIN. Calling your previous installer won't get you the PIN either unless he screenshot it. You need to call 100 and ask for technician visit. When the technician call you, ask him for the PIN. If you go through this process, you might as well ask for everything. Ping 1.9.1.9. If the ping is low, everything inside your house is fine. I tried in bridge mode, inserted the phone jack but the phone did not work. I chose to use back the old huawei onu, that's why he only left me with the black d link and the onu password.

Tp link be550 is a budget router you can consider. 2.5g port for WAN and 4x 2.5g port for LAN.
