Yes, correct.....I have complaint tons of time & request to them to change to another router but their technician inform to me Unifi only have this router tat support for 1Gbps.....so can't do anything.....but i dun trust the technician becoz previously there's another technician mentioned there's fiberhome which can support for 1Gbps....but another technician inform dun have.....i hate these kind of discrepancy......zzzzz

I already call to Unifi and FXXK them kao kao but still nah no use......makes me wonder really I need to buy my own router+modem to fix this issue? suddenly kena use my own money pulak which get me frustrated.... mad.gif
*
Ok..i understand your frustration.

Are you still keeping your old ZTE modem? If yes, please plug it back * you can file a complaint just to get the TM nut technician come to solve your DC issue and get him to plug back the ZTE modem back for you

The ZTE modem will limit your 1Gbps speed at 940Mbps, but in return it will be stable than the D-Link.

Fork out own $$$$ to solve ISP shitty device really frustrated, as I been doing for years, so I feel you. unsure.gif

by end of the month,
TM will probably end up having all IPv4 and IPv6 imaginable on their hijack route whistling.gif

--

just another nail into the coffin.
instead of fixing the current 2Gbps debacle, they focus well - exceedingly over the top well - on hijacking and blocking DNS traffic. and moreover, even business subscribers are also affected.
i can still tolerate if TM only implement filtering for unsecured DNS queries, that would be good to protect young ones and nonagenarians. but they went step beyond to even block DoH and DoH.
While everyone is coming up with schemes to secure the internet, TM wants its user to go back stone age.

i stand by my earlier resolution to disconnect TM when my contract is up.
*
Agree..i might switch to Maxis since my contract is out and TM Nut yet to upgrade my FSU to 1G

But Maxis does not interfere with DoH or DoT, that's the difference comparing to TM Nut
Maxis eat most of the share and left some bones and meats for their customer, where else TM Nut eat everything and leave nothing to their customers

Hmm, I'm also thinking if should switch to Maxis then, but then again, Maxis can also follow TM in the future, right?
*
Just YOLO it, we will never know what will happened in the future unsure.gif
Like we never expect our MCMC who is supposed to protect us from the crony ISP end up forming an alliance with the ISP to destroy us

If you do change, try to verify whether Maxis does actually leave DoT and DoH alone or not for Home users. I don't think they will answer you, but I've read around socmed that Maxis Home customers are also DoT and DoH blocked.

This article and the Maxis page really might be addressing business entities only.
*
Yes, business only tongue.gif
But i spoke to my ex-manager, my ex-company uses Unifi Business with dedicated IP, and yes their DNS also being affected despite with DoH setup shocking.gif

the majority, that are not on this forum, that have never touched the config page of their router before, and just use their connection to browse fb/tiktok/youtube/instagram would not feel a difference at all
they dont even know what DNS is

the majority will be silent because as far as they're concerned, nothing changed, it just works fine
and they trust the system, oh , a website is blocked? then it must be a bad website that deserves to be blocked
there's a reason why these changes were not announced publically

we are a loud technical minority
*
Yes. And TM Nut only think we are their pain in the butt for being the resistance. Since we are the minority, our voices & opinions will be treated as a silent protest.

Jeez..if you ever found out those DNS server/method that are still working, please lay low profile. TM Nut are watching over your nutsacks for potential KPI. So STOP killing everyone's hope ok?

Since they can hijack our beloved DNS, we can DDOS their live chat in return too dry.gif

Not only from public people but from ISPs and corporations on technically issue/feasibilty etc as well.

Memang sengaja time the event so nobody is able to attend except their "own people".

The agency basically breaches their fiduciary duty.

Example : https://mcmc.gov.my/en/media/announcements/...essaging-servic

MCMC should have open up a public consultation with industry players (ISPs) and the public people like us before proceeding to instruct ISPs to hijack the IP addresses and redirected the hijacked IP addreseses to their own DNS servers.

Remember, the fact of the case, MCMC IS NOT BLOCKING DOH/DOT protocol, rather MCMC is INSTRUCTING ISPS TO HIJACK THE ALTERNATIVE DNS IP ADDRESSES AND REDIRECT DNS REQUEST TO MCMC DNS SERVER.

What act of laws and regulatory framework gave MCMC the power to do so?
MCMC has power to request ISPs to block site via DNS server belonging to local ISPs, but what gave them the power to instruct ISPs to hijack and redirect the DNS request to other provider DNS server?

ISPs punya lawyers pun satu.......takde yang soal ke?
*
Maybe some people don't understand this, let me rephrase it

Your lover send you a love letter to your house, but your parents saw it and hide it from you, does it even fair for you especially your privacy! They are invading your privacy and they do not let you see your lover's love letter, heck you might though your lover no longer loves you by stop writing to you

🤣🤣🤣

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Sep 11 2024, 12:37 PM)
got too involved as i am working/worked on DNS proxying the past few nights.
an endeavour which itself involved research purposes, with the achieved outcome is obviously meant to facilitate future research purposes.

so far i have DoH working in iphone, ipad, windows, and linux.
android unfortunately requires DoT, which i am avoiding because its default port tcp/853 can be detected and thus subject to blocking - and worst, hijacking.

--

i'm ignoring cost of creating and cost of deciphering DNS wire payload, which is applicable to each below.

DNS
no udp/53 protocol penalty

DNS-over-TLS
tcp/853; cost of establishing TCP session, cost of negotiating secure TLS session, cost of tearing TCP session

DNS-over-HTTP/1, DNS-over-HTTP/1.1, DNS-over-HTTP/2
tcp/443; cost of establishing TCP session, cost of negotiating secure TLS session, cost of parsing HTTP request and response, cost of tearing down TCP session

DNS-over-HTTP/3, which runs over QUIC
udp/443; cost of negotiating QUIC session, cost of parsing HTTP request and response

https://www.f5.com/glossary/quic-http3

user posted image

--

instead of using DoH-proxy reinvented by people out there, i decided to use nginx as my DNS-over-HTTPS forwarder. no need to reinvent the wheel.
immediately can support all HTTP/1 to HTTP/3, tcp and quic protocols.
and specifically choosing nginx; because i can hide my DNS-over-HTTPS entry point behind normal web hosting.
Unless one knows the exact https://what-is-my-exact-name/, you shouldn't be able to identify it nor use it. Hiding in plain sight.

--

(oh, yes. i'm bragging.)
*
For Android i know that you can use AdGuard or NexDNS app to get DoH
