I send a used HDD to a buyer in LYN tradezone via poslaju.
Before sending, item was check for workability and was confirmed working perfectly.
I even went an extra mile in formating it before packing and delivering.

But upon arrival at buyer's, HDD cannot even boot with noisy spindle cracking sound.

Buyer suspected it was due to negligence by POSLAJU.

So what must I, as the seller, do?

Did you include a clause saying risks via postage are the buyer's responsibility?

No la..he isn't.
the buyer was a malay guy who contacted me via hp.

Where is the clause refering to risk via postage is buyer's resposibilty?

i nvr noticed it b4 sweat.gif

normally i just write down my particulars, buyers particulars, declare item intended to send then sign my name! icon_question.gif

Its like a disclaimer.

Like if the buyers wants you to poslaju the product, he has to bear responsibility for any damages incurred in transit. Many sellers include this as you never know what PosLaju will do to your stuff tongue.gif

On the other hand, it would be nice that you could provide some proof that the hard disk was working fine in case the buyer accuses you of selling him a faulty product.

u as seller who post it should know that!!!! and do u put some extra effort to protect the HDD like wrap it with some bubble wrap??? tongue.gif
and if u don't declare it as "fragile" item in the resit....and don't declare u item as HDD@electric stuff.....i'm pretty sure u can't claim anything !!!!

Actually there is a "standard" amount of compensation (maybe RM300?), if I remember correctly, provided you didn't buy insurance. An item can be insured up to 3k I think.

hmmm...please practice attaching a fragile sticker or write down a big one "FRAGILE" on the packing before sending to buyer.

i think its not their fault for throwing yr thing. they have a lot of packing to be sent. Nobody works perfect, even if i'm the posmen, i will throw them also.
