Hi Guys, with budget around 1k which monitor should I get for work? I'm pairing with laptop connected to dock.

Usage mostly Excel & powerpoint, maybe sometimes CAD design.

Normal size or ultrawide?

Don't even need that high budget for office use unless you are doing media work.

Ultra wide is not good for excel use because normally you need vertical space.

I guess depends on your spread sheet. I use normal widescreen and it is not enough o display all the column I use. Have to group columns that are least critical

Since I'm using desktop, both excel and CAD are on the same monitor. I rejected the laptop because it will mean bringing home work

For my case my spreadsheet will be more column so maybe wider might be better? Especially when dealing with gantt chart, currently I'm using 27 FHD for some more column spreadsheet need to scroll left & right. Actually I'm thinking to have 2 monitor but my dock have only 1 HDMI so maybe a wider screen will be the solution?

I only use 1 wide screen. Just alternate which screen to see when required because I do not need to simultaneously see two different display at a time.

I think any LCD monitor will have same effect. You just need to adjust not only the brightness but also the color tone. From time to time I just walk to windows to look outside at distant object to relax eyes muscle.

I work in factory. An IT guy I knew swap a monitor meant for a machine so that I do not have to scroll too much. Now I'm using HP monitor. The model shows it is L2245wg

Been staring monitor more than 30 years in current and previous jobs. Luckily I still no need to wear glasses

I use this one.. cheapest 4k monitor..quite good..the only downside of this monitor it's quite heavy and bulky

Before this I use 40 inch fhd and 22 inch fhd.. 32 inch 4k is quite nice to do office work

Yes, if you use bigger screen then the resolution also need to increase. If not can be tiring on eyes too.

It depend on the distance of your eyes to the monitor. Better check it out in person.

For office use any IPS panel monitor is more than enough. If you want OLED then beware that the font may look bad for some user. Just Google OLED font.

May I know what entry levels LCD are more recommended? I am looking at HP and Dell.

Dell - E2223HV / HN - unsure whats the difference btwn N and V (2022 manufactured)
Dell - E2222H - older manufacture year 2021

HP - M22f (IPS Panel) - no height adjust
HP - V22V G5 (VA Panel) - no height adjust (edge-lit)

Are both the above HP and Dells comparable or is Dell somehow superior a bit? I dislike having no height adjustment actually.

And how much difference are there between IPS and VA?
I have no idea about the Dells but I think they are TFT Active Matrixes. Which panel technology is better? I dislike light bleeding at the edge, I don't do gaming, I prefer wider viewing angles.

TFT Active Matrix can be ignored, its basically in every display
In the past there was Passive Matrix which was all ghosty and stuff, but that's the 90s

Dell UltraSharp series is best in class
but E series is just budget series

I would say go for any of them that have IPS display

(More in-depth comparison could be done if you want, such as comparing color accuracy, to pick the "best" monitor)

CAD need high resolution for 2D. 4K with IPS should be enough.

can anyone recommend me monitor for work 24 Inch above my work is required connect laptop to monitor via HDMI or VGA cable. Tasks are including open documentation such as PDF & excel file and hope no delay from the screen between laptop and monitor. Thanks!
