I heard that you can apply also, it is freely available to the public, as long as you have a degree, you can go through a self-study RISM exam, 10 papers and you are then entitled to get 3 of them.

I heard that there are a number of people who did that during MCO, and they are now otw to get the licenses...people put in hard work to get it...not do a public vote for something else...

Based on what i heard (a friend of friend of mine was talking about these)...kalau normal process..go through a property-related and recognised by BOVEAP's degree courses ( 3 to 5 years), 2-year practical task or working experience...2 years getting the required tasks to complete....
5+2+2 = 9 years to get the 3 licenses..

The friend of mine was also complained, a lot of people think so easy job to be valuers, there is a joke by them...give u a title, you must get the value...you are the God...

I agree totally .I understand your point of view that everyone can go ahead and study it and get the license.

What I'm trying to convey here is , why give the monopoly of real estate services to one profession? This practice is not found anywhere in the developed international real estate market. (sure?)
Let's look at the big picture here guys.

Many developed country divide up the services to make the professionals more competitive. This is how you grow a real estate market. (Our real estate market is growing so fast, so many estate agents in the market as you know)

I remember Speedhome were trying to bring "buy & sell" services to the market via their Speed runner services. They also tried to implement online eSPA.

Board of Valuers sue them and won.

Decades after Merdeka,there are only 1000+ Valuers in Malaysia. Each valuer are given 3 professional license (Valuation, Estate Agency and Property Management). They can practise and provide their services in all 3 areas. Basically, the 3 areas covered all real estate services. The question would be whether they are able to provide top notch services to their clients. What do you think?

Valuers aren't highly paid, granted it is not really a high-skill job.
You want more valuers? Many will turn to become Grab driver before digitalisation replaces their job.
