i was using some budget android before this.
other than sound quality lousy, i noticed these two issues

1. volume level is not gradual. at certain level, let's say level 4 to level 5, the volume jump so much

2. equalizer - doesn't "hold" the db level you set for certain frequencies. most noticible is the bass level, example 60hz. when you set it at let's say 3db. got bass. after a while the bass like hilang. you open back the equalizer, re-adjust the 60hz level, bass come back.

i thought of getting those branded ones such as pionneer or kenwood.

You will need to consider whether there is aftermarket bracket cover for your old car, if the new player size is different.
