Hello, I'm Kim Pan Gon. I will be appointed as the head coach of the Malaysian national soccer team today and resign from the post of chairman of the Korea Football Association's National Power Enhancement Committee after the final World Cup qualifying match against Syria on February 1. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Korea Football Association for appointing me, who was lacking in many ways, and soccer players and soccer fans for their support. I would like to express my special gratitude to the former executive director of the Hong Myung-bo Association, who proposed to work together for the first time and has not spared full support since then.

After the Suzuki Cup earlier this year, I received an offer from the Malaysian Football Association to coach the national team. After much consideration, we recently consulted with the Korea Football Association and accepted Malaysia's request. I believe that our national team will be able to confirm its advance to the World Cup finals soon, given its recent performance. In addition, the appointment of coaches under the age of 23 and 20 has recently been completed safely, and the women's national team is also steadily developing in the right direction. Considering that he did his best as chairman of the National Power Reinforcement Committee, he decided that it was time to return to the scene as a leader.
Personally, I expected to return to the field as a K League team, but the timing was not right due to various circumstances such as the World Cup qualifying schedule. I also sympathized with the development potential of the Malaysian national team and their vision, and decided to go to Malaysia to take on a new challenge. Once again, thank you to the Korea Football Association for supporting my decision even in a sudden situation.

Since I took office in 2018, I have tried to implement five goals. 1) Establishing the national team's game philosophy - Building a soccer 2) winning the game with active play - Appointing a coach according to the national team's game philosophy 3) Establishing a growth structure for elite players of all ages - Fostering 4) Preparing for each age team's play style.

Under these goals, our national team wanted to give soccer fans the joy of victory and help the Korea Football Association increase trust externally. Some of the five goals are thought to have been successfully completed, and some are still insufficient due to the limitations of the given role. I believe that competent successors will definitely complete the tasks that have not been achieved.

I leave with gratitude, but if I have a chance to work for the Korea Football Association again next time, my determination to work hard for the technological development of Korean football remains unchanged. I hope the Korea Football Association and our national soccer team will continue to move forward with the love and support of the people. Thank you.
