Toh Chin Chye - from Batu Gajah, Perak
Goh Keng Swee - from Malacca
Devan Nair - from Malacca
Yusof Ishak - from Taiping, Perak
Ong Eng Guan - from Malacca
Ong Pang Boon - from Kuala Lumpur
Ahmad Ibrahim  - from Penang
Hon Sui Sen - from Penang
---
Honourable mentions:

Wee Kheng Chiang, founder of UOB, from Kuching, Sarawak
J. Y. Pillay, founding chairman of Singapore Airlines, from Klang
T. T. Rajah - from Sri Lanka
S. Rajatranam - from Sri Lanka

What does this tell you? Singapore is not special. Malaysians made Singapore. People should stop putting down Malaysia and Malaysians. Even today, countless "Singaporean" companies (e.g. Grab), politicians, prominent figures, sportspeople, are from Malaysia. Singapore, past and present, is NOTHING without Malaysia and Malaysians.

But any idea why these special people didn't remain in Malaysia?
