Hi all, seeking for some opinions here before I pull the trigger.

Some of you might remember my old thread "Old house to dream house".

My house has been facing leaking issues for years and I recently stumbled upon this recommendation.

From what I gather, they extensively use torch on membrane to fix all issues (whether it is cement, steel roof, roof tiles, etc). I've heard of torch on membrane and its application on cement slabs only usually.

I've actually contacted them for a quotation, which came to over RM20k. Basically almost "wrapping" all four corners of my roof + rolling down over required spots. The logic makes sense, i.e. they don't just patch the problematic area, but always start from the top of where the water would flow.

Here's the link to their FB page. They got tons of tiktok videos too.

Example of the concept (mine is a metal deck roof as well):

After almost 7 years of my massive renovation (meant to be my dream home), it has been anything but. I've done countless fixes over the years, but as it rains harder and harder each year, old spots are reopening and new spots are forming.

I've accepted this partially due to bad workmanship, but alarmingly a design flaw on the roof which I've had limited ability to supervise during construction 7 years ago.

I am hoping this is my "final" trigger before I pull it, and hope to finally put my mental torture to an end.

Do share your experience on this company, if you have engaged them before & this method. Happy to hear your thoughts, perhaps in 7 years there are new technologies and methods I'm not aware of.

Thanks sifus. smile.gif

Thanks for all the feedback.
Dilemma now. Roof replacement is not an option for me, due to proximity to neighbours. Hmm.

The final quote is RM26k.

I guess it all depends on if you can find the root cause and have the right contractor to fix it?!

My case was also similar to yours, but mine is a roof tiles. Last 7 years was hell, we cant even leave the house for vacation in peace. It pretty much leaks at multiple places, and the span of 7 years, easily would have called 7-8 contractor to fix and cash spent! was just wasted.

Finally found the contractor that mentioned above, via a relative of mine, who did his house 1 year ago.

Last 2 months, expecially during this rainy period, was/is the most peaceful time of our life!

Mine cost about 15k.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Really appreciate it.

The picture you shown is similar to what they will be doing.

Just a bit hesitant on the huge price gap. Mine is also a link house, not a bungalow or anything.

I wonder if I am being overcharged or if there is some mistake in the calculations (it's purely done using a drone and the measurements are drawn based on pictures taken by the drone).
