I afraid u need to spend some hefty fund for wear & tear, leather crack, dashboard crack, tyre, suspension items, rod, plastic trim etc. That why better take a newer car to settle the above. But if u have fund to play, go for it

Hi bro,

Buying old car (especially luxury level) is easy (because very low used value), but maintenance isn't easy.

For over 10 years old car (no matter how reliable a brand), those wear and tears items need to be replaced, unless you don't mind about it.

You may need to spare another 10-20k to bring it back to prestine good condition (unless you managed to find a unit which is so well maintained by the previous owner). It is possible, but need a bit of luck to find one.

Then every year after that, you may still need to budget some fund to fix something, older car is unavoidable. But for old car, Lexus is still preferrable over BMW or Benz.

If you are ok with the above and well prepared for the above, then why not?

Altezza almost reaching 25 years, parts are hard to come by.

Great chassis but that last generation 3SGE straight 4 engine has it's disadvantage compare to other competitors.

However overall package is a balance driver car.

V6 not build for city drive. Get a manual trans corola or vios better. Almost zero maintenance.

Can share why not recommended for city drive? My current daily driver already a fuel guzzler (12l/100km) so for fc, more or less the same. Anything else to be wary about?
