Current electricity bill RM150 to 250 but I guess allowing more would be better since there will be more room to play around. Previously air-conditioner is just used at night during sleep and during weekends. The living room is 2.5hp so that is only switched on when necessary usually during weekends only. If that is switched on, the electricity bill will increase a lot.

With solar, possibly used during weekdays all day without incurring much cost. Not sure if single or 3 phase.

These are very indicative and not really accurate.

You need to get yourself an effective system.

A 10kwp system can easily outperform 12kwp system with the right setup and combination. You could be paying 35k for. 10kwp system and 40k for 12kwp but the saving for 10kwp system could be way higher.

I have done several comparison of systems with my friends and have some ideas which setup is preferable and economical.

As for my own experience, I have already installed and my bill drop from 650 to rm3 my initial system is 11kwp.

Thanks for this information which is a revelation to me since my earlier impression is a 12kWp will trump a lower 10kWp anytime with the extra capacity. Since now you have mentioned an "effective system" of 10kWp will easily outperform a higher 12kWp, this is something new and interesting to me. Care to share on the details of an "effective system" since I'm pretty clueless on what constitutes this system.

Thanks in advance.

Sure.

When you choose a system, you need to know your roof configuration. Position, and angle to get the best sun light.

While this is something which is difficult to control, you can try to choose the best position.

Then it goes to the type of inverters. String will be prone of shading compared to micro inverter.

Then we have inverter size to consider as well as the panel type and size.

With the right configuration, you will be able to harvest the max from the sunlight in your area.

If you need personalize advice, do feel free to pm me.

Thanks for that. So the effective system is essentially the adjustment or implementation of the system to get the most sunlight and convert it to energy. Positioning of solar panel to get the best sunlight, that is understood. Type of inverters and size, not too sure but I guess the solar panel provided is not a "Fixed package" in the sense there are different models for the inverters and the size as well. Initially I thought it's a package since from the TNB solar website, there are no details on the inverter type and size as it's all based on capacity requirement only.

Just planning for the installation for the future house as it won't be too soon.

If you get from Tnb, I am sure it won’t be as good. And they are freaking expensive. There are so many other providers doing same thing at a fraction of what Tnb charge.

Is your future house ready? I would suggest you snap up the current nem 3.0 quota while it is not exhausted. Currently is only left 10%. You can check at seda website

There is an extension of time to apply but the quota is running out soon.

Not ready. Apologies as I"m not sure what is all this NEM 3.0 but I suppose if the quota has run out, it will be renewed for people who wish to apply later?

I'm not familiar with all this and will only investigate later when the time comes.
*
Nem 3.0 is a continuation of nem 2.0 with far less benefits.

There are specific quotas for both programme. Unless they top up the quota, else nem 3.0 will come to a close.

You can try your luck if there is nem4.0 or if there isn’t, then you are stuck with self consumption with own battery.

The govt did announce the extension of nem 3.0 but so far the quota remain unchanged. It’s the time extension to apply apparently.
