Hi, wanna ask, to open this account, do I do it from the Grab app (I see there's this GX Account under the Grab app, is it the same?)? Or better to download the GXBank app and register from the app?

Thanks

if you did not already created the savings pocket before 23rd. then you missed the boat.

Just created the account and waiting for verification, so I guess no more applicable for these "pockets" campaigns ya?

BTW just wanna check, under normal usage, what's the reason for having so many pockets? Tried to read around but still couldn't get the idea, except that different pocket will allow one to see the actual vs target for each pocket. Any other benefits?

Thanks

Is kind of like force savings. Cause the savings pot cannot be used for spending. It needs to be transferred to main account to spend. Although transfering is fast but need the extra step.😂

Thanks for the info. But both main and pockets will get the same 3% interest right?

And to transfer between the main and pockets, is it instant transfer that can be done via the app?

Thanks

I was trying to understand the exchange rate for GX vs Wise. Taking GBP as example below, I see for Wise is rate is 593.43 but i need to pay 597.18, which I presume it's for the extra charges?

For GX, as I understood, it will be based on MasterCard rate with 0% fee. So I check the website and here's what I get, 595.02

Questions:

1) Is the above understanding correct? Meaning for this case, GX is having a better rate at 595.01 vs Wise at 597.18

2) But if based on Wise's rate without the charges, it's only 593.43. Just wondering why is the rate lower than MC's rate?

Thanks

lowyat101 your wise screen shot is ringgit convert to pound. Your MasterCard is pound convert to ringgit

What do you want to do? Tell us and we redo the comparison again.

Ok ok sorry missed that.

I wanted to compare, which one is more worth it for spending when travelling to overseas. Was using the GBP as an example.

For the Wise, I was trying to see how much MYR I need to pay in order to have GBP100 in the GBP account.

For the Mastercard, I was trying to see how much I need to pay in MYR if I swipe GBP100 with the GX card

Thanks in advance.

p/s - the screenshots were taken on last Sunday, so today's rate will be different.

always use weekday rates during office hours for best rates..

I see, ok will try to compare again during office hours.

But I guess this is only for Wise if I want to transfer fund to the foreign currency account right? For GX it will still based on the transaction date.

BTW talking about this, does it also means if paying using CC or DC when at overseas, the rates during weekdays will be more favourable than during weekends? If given a choice, is it better to pay in foreign currency using CC during weekdays?

Thanks

Hi, just to double confirm, meaning there will still be extra ATM charge by the foreign bank ya?

Coz thinking now if I shall change the money here locally or use the ATM withdrawal function when reaching the overseas airports hmm.gif hmm.gif

But will be small amount since I believe most of the transactions will be using the card anyway.

Thanks

Hi, wanna check if it's possible to transfer money to a 3rd party GX account by online bank transfer to the GX debit card number?
