A bit of warning.

GX Bank sent me an email saying that it has locked my account because of multiple transactions.

I transferred funds several times, less than 5k each time, from RIZE to GX Bank.

The LiveChat agent wasn't helpful and asked me to wait for a call from them. There is a contact number in the email but when I dialed the call didn't connect.

It would seem that their system doesn't like multiple transactions

Transferred same amount 5 times over 2 weeks.
Both accounts have the same account holder name and IC number.

I suspect when the debit card starts running with 1% cashback, there will be lots of restrictions and suspensions.

(No cashback on expenditure with large amounts anyway - insurance premiums, e wallet reloads, and governmental services are already excluded)

I don't mind them running checks. But it is hugely disappointing not being able to speak to someone. The LiveChat is not helpful at all.

Best not to transfer too much into GX Bank to avoid these issues.

RIZE is still paying 4% interest rate per annum from year 2024

Still no luck in trying to reach the operations team at GX Bank, despite the email asking for a call back.

I contacted them via LiveChat and the General Customer team - who advised that "they cannot say anything or give any information beyond the General Customer Services. You just need to wait for them to call you."

It would appear that there are different teams of customer service. The 24/7 customer service cannot really deal with real issues.

If anyone is doubtful, try call the Operation Team number, a computer will answer the call then it will be total silence..... no one would pick up.

The computer says they are open until 10pm 7 days a week nevertheless.

GX Bank operations team finally called. They could not hear me then they hanged up.

I would like to complain to BNM via eLink. And GX Bank was not even on the list of banks you could choose.

GX Bank called me again. We spoke successfully. He was from the Fraud team and just wanted to confirm a DUITNOW transaction. I highlighted that its contact number did not work and was promised a full investigation.

Agreed with your suspicion that they don't use actual telephone. VOIP seems rather unreliable.

Not sure if they called me from Singapore. Most probably they were calling from Malaysia.

The fraud agent whom i spoke with was very professional and apologised several times for the inconveniences. So, my transaction amount was too low to trigger facial check with camera but high enough to trigger some manual checks.

It turned out that there were some technical glitches with their telephone system.

I was surprised that a more senior colleague called me again several minutes to ask about my experiences. She reassured that they are still a new digital bank and therefore still learning the patterns of customer service. She stayed late at work to make that call. They were meant to finish at 10pm. I suggested that communication was indispensable for a digital bank as they have no physical offices.

I will still continue to use GX Bank.

Can GX Bank accounts receive GIRO Bank transfers? Is DUITNOW the only option to pay into a GX Bank account?
