QUOTE(Mysagavvt @ Oct 16 2023, 03:40 PM) Soon. Likely Nov or Dec.Early rumour from my James Bond said it will be 1.5 turbo engine. I guess they will mirror X50 range with the top end having DI turbo. The 1.5 NA engine will be available later on, not during launch. This post has been edited by davidletterboyz: Oct 17 2023, 12:03 PM |

Car dealer taking booking. Est from RM80k onwards. For this price range, I’m guessing that the 1.5 turbo engine will be given

QUOTE(babisotong @ Nov 1 2023, 06:17 PM) bro, from what i've heard (from ppl who drive it already) it's using x50 MPI setup which is not higher than Mazda 2.0 and there is no Mazda 2 2.0 variant, all of them is 1.5. I misread that it has 177hp.And I meant Mazda 3 This post has been edited by Leo the Lion: Nov 1 2023, 06:55 PM |

QUOTE(babisotong @ Nov 1 2023, 07:21 PM) we have to wait until Proton release official power figure since now no official info on whether it's like x50 got mpi and tgdi or only mpi variant Only MPI for S70. Hp, Torque as usual retain same for all model using this engine. Proton should be more hardworking by adjusting (via tuning?) for hp/Nm according to car model if possible. |

It's not smooth on pedal respond, press a little = slow respond, press more = jumpy.Hopefully they really fix it. |

Definitely looks like a B-Segnent beater. The only question mark now is how the fuel consumption is like. Frugal or crazy like the TGdi on the X50?
First impression it looks promising. MPI should not have the problem of carbon build up like in the TGdi? This post has been edited by Madgeiser: Nov 30 2023, 01:28 PM |

Nowadays many workshop offer carbon deposit cleaning at rm400, use to be rm700-800 years ago. Use walnut for cleaningThis post has been edited by ayamxxx: Dec 2 2023, 10:33 AM |

The fact that no AA/AC is a let down
At least if they allow sideload APK of Carlinkit, can get a dongle for that purpose is much better. Giving a PUNY 1GB is a joke yet allow streaming of Spotify, SYOK etc. What the crap? Otherwise it will be a godcar at 80k for Premium |

wanna ask about the ACC with stop and go, is the version on s70 fully stop and go during traffic jams? meaning follow at low speed during jam, and stop when needed to, and start to move by itself when the car in front is moving? or after each time it stops then need to step on pedal to move it again?
thanks |

Tesla said camera + AI is future Others still incorp RADAR + CAMERA + AI (bought from others) FYI, those Autonomous driving are not developed by these car manufacturer, they bought the SDK from solution providers. While Tesla develop everything in house. S70 specs looks good on paper, overall ownership experience never wins especially theres still spare part issues on X50 and X70 TILL TODAY. lordgamer3 liked this post

QUOTE(MegaCanonF @ Jan 27 2024, 10:42 PM) - Aircon and power window so far no problem. - Engine noise a bit rough but not obvious in the car. no worry, no shaking. - tire noise ada. Do consider change a better tire. - Steering stiitching can improve. - Internal space is acceptable for me. - Finally with rear passenger aircon, no more complain from kids. - tinted that come along, quality ok lah. dont put high expectation. At least they put darker tinted for rear passengers window. - Autonomous features work well. Very intelligent. - Turning on all the safety features, kinda annoying and stressful. Need to off some of it. (cos im new to these features) - The maps support real traffic condition, its okay even without apple / android car play. Spotify pun ada. - Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) - no complain when I use it at highway. I totally agree with those reviewers +ve comments on proton / Geely ICC that its better than other makers. I would say, worth the money for what we getting in term of performance, comfort and build quality. Now let's hope there's "no why no buy 2" major issue. g5sim, Skeuomorphic, and 3 others liked this post

QUOTE(MegaCanonF @ Jan 27 2024, 10:42 PM) So far- tire noise ada in cabin especially on rough road. - ICC works well (first time use icc) but can feel sudden braking if got moto change lane infront of you. - 360 camera very clear. - Space wise is okay for me even at the back. - good thigh support for driver seat (170cm person). - build quality is okay for its price. - Tried the maps once, so far at my place is accurate enough but no idea for other places. Overall, good value for 90k. Now need to wait if got any major issue. This post has been edited by rudat: Jan 28 2024, 11:51 AM mick84 liked this post

I noticed that the design of the exterior look big. but inside is very tight.
I dont know if it is the design. the interior looks and feels a lot smaller than waja. |

QUOTE(General_Nic @ Feb 11 2024, 09:09 PM) maximum 70kg lighter in x50 TGDI owner rage saying his car getting 12L/100km. but not showing how he drive. in s70 fb group, they got 6-7L/100km. I bet they drove as slow as possible especially new car, yet to hit 1k kmother factors are SUV less aerodynamic than sedan, SUV tyres usually have higher rolling resistance than normal tyres |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Feb 11 2024, 08:49 PM) Of course s70 fuel consumption will be much better than x50. Same engine and transmission but S70 is a Sedan. Sedan vs SUV, sedan always win in term of FC due to better aerodynamic design plus lighter body. |

ive been driving it for 1 week. theres something that i like and something that i dont like. im came from persona. so my view might not be the same compared /k standard 20k/month salary that usually drive lexus or sunset orange. exterior wise, a very handsome car in every angle. front projector lamp makes it feel like a much expansive car when driving at night. think mazda 3. outer door handle with push to unlock is a missed opportunity. remote start is a plus. i dont like the UI in the infotainment screen. wish it came with aacp. dont know the reason why it came with atlas store app which in a opinion, a bloatware with no function aside from boosting their company's fragile ego. digital speedometer is also a miss. the UI decision makes the fuel gauge harder to read. not sure why they even bother to let us customise it. doesnt seem al that different to me. in short, atlas sucks balls. 1gb/m data is a joke. i only got 1 good thing to say regarding the infotainment unit. spotify. they can throw joox in a trashcan. i dont care about it. engine wise its just fine. if you are pedal happy kind of person such as me, expect to see the spike on fuel usage. when you need it to be fast, it could be very fast albeit the slight but noticeable turbo delay when you decided to floor it. icc is such a new thing to me, very impressive when i see it working myself. very practical in usage. the 10k difference between premium and flagship certainly is not just paying for gimmick. genuinely useful when theres slow traffic and you just want a temporary breather. im not sure if i like the auto hold function. it feels okay when stopping at traffic light but when you are stopping at junction i suggest just turn it off. it doesnt like sudden acceleration especially when you need to cross the heavy traffic. feel like beating dead horse here but the suspension is really soft and comfy when you are riding past the bumb, even higher than average bump but im sure you already heard it from yt reviewers. in conclusion, perfectly capable car surpassing the likes of vios and city and maybe altis. if you can look past its quirkiness. not sure about mazda 2 and almera. edit. voice control is also a missed opportunity. would be better if i can actually access sports mode via voice activation. instead i need to swipe down the touch screen and find the botton. if you are going to integrate the functionality anyway, why dont you just go all in? thats why i dont like atlas, they put priority on the shit that doesnt matter. make me feel like batman not a fucking pleb. Luckily mine (X70) cw hacked AA, and those apps, smart tube and waze. But 100% with AA cz the HU is outdated and slow, with AA it run by phone so it smooth. Just hope the S70 getting AA, ACP asap by official or by hacked version, again official by Aco Tech is just not much to expect |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Feb 14 2024, 02:57 PM) i'm undecided about blue vs space grey at the moment Marine blue is hot color I think so you need to take note in case it affect your waiting period how long you waited between booking and collection? Mine is quite fast. I booked on mid December and got mine 2 days before CNY. You might need to avoid place with long queue. babisotong liked this post

Just now went for short distance test drive for X50 and S70
In terms of comfort , I prefer S70 But X50 has rdy stock while need to wait 3 months and above for S70 This post has been edited by tzxsean: Feb 15 2024, 11:17 AM |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Feb 16 2024, 08:23 AM) now that I think about it .. X50 premium vs S70 flagship .... Bought base flagship version so there’s no body kit . S70 has more features and cheaper by RM10k+ too did you opt for any bodykit? Personally to me bodykit and sunroof makes it a pain in butt to maintain long term. |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Feb 16 2024, 01:33 PM) Alright … one last question For now im not planning to replace it Did you went outside and replace the security tint that comes with it? If so, may I know what is the brand and the approximate cost? Actually the security tint they provided is quite decent in heat protection but not much privacy la My SA told me if I chose to add second layer the tinted warranty would be voided So I’ll just use couple of years then see again how |

QUOTE(h0riz0nLine @ Feb 13 2024, 12:36 PM) ive been driving it for 1 week. Ya no walk away lock right?theres something that i like and something that i dont like. im came from persona. so my view might not be the same compared /k standard 20k/month salary that usually drive lexus or sunset orange. exterior wise, a very handsome car in every angle. front projector lamp makes it feel like a much expansive car when driving at night. think mazda 3. outer door handle with push to unlock is a missed opportunity. remote start is a plus. i dont like the UI in the infotainment screen. wish it came with aacp. dont know the reason why it came with atlas store app which in a opinion, a bloatware with no function aside from boosting their company's fragile ego. digital speedometer is also a miss. the UI decision makes the fuel gauge harder to read. not sure why they even bother to let us customise it. doesnt seem al that different to me. in short, atlas sucks balls. |

The shocks on the car can be at least 20% stiffer than original. But suprisingly the body roll is minimal when taking corners. Flew over some road humps around my taman and the car just floated over them. Can't complain about the comfort. Performance is satisfactory too!

QUOTE(arenji @ Jun 4 2024, 02:53 PM) Hi guys i will suggest you test drive the car with your family. Is this car recommended for a family of 5? I haven't test drive the car but i really like the package that comes with it on paper. i checked the car, compare to my current x50. S70 rear seat actually 'feel' more comfortable than my x50... (maybe just placebo, who know) other than that, i think only NVH etc that slightly worse again. test drive with your family, as this car not 30K but long term 'investment' lol |

you can go for test drive if you are planning to buy and compare for yourself, are you getting yours money's worth in silence compared to to its peers.
i prioritise engine and wind noise as this is something you cannot fix easily, tire noise can be resolved by changing to quieter thread design tires |

Developing in collaboration with a local suspension manufacturer a set of damping adjustable shocks for the S70. Hopefully it can address the extreme softness of the standard set. Height will remain the same as it uses the original springs. Will post the pics on the facebook page when availa linkinstreet and ktek liked this post

Did highway drive from KL to Penang today
Fuel consumption 17.2 km/l , driving between 90-140 km/h car still below 1k km. Superb handling, ride and comfort so far. No rattling YET (surprisingly for proton after owning a few) Having front headlamp light flickering issue when going on uneven road and auto high beam not starting up. Anyone else with similar fate? ![]() |

It's year 2024 still give u 3 cylinder need to change timing belt engine. Like x50, x70, x90 all not going to sell after people realise it's high fuel consumptions + expensive leceh maintenance + lousy proton service.

Anyone experience air con issue? When I press the Auto AirCond, the ventilation button got turned off .
Then if I lower the temperature, the fan level also reduce automatically. When I switch to Eco drive mode, the air cond also become not cold and more this kind of issue. |

Geely design, can solve this if u set the temperature of 24C and lower, the ventilation will keep on at Auto mode. Then if I lower the temperature, the fan level also reduce automatically. When I switch to Eco drive mode, the air cond also become not cold and more this kind of issue. The 2nd, lower temperature mean u set from 24C to 26C? If then norm the fan level will reduce if at auto mode. Eco mode will make compressor run lower, although not as noticeable as Honda car. codercoder liked this post

I found the standard shocks too soft.... makes the car ride like an old camry. When the shocks were taken off i saw the word geeley stamped on them. Looks like proton just took a geely and did an engine swap, like what we did with the wiras and mivec /evo engines
Anyway, did u guys notice a vibration when taking off from a standstill? After 2k rpm, the vibration is gone. Have u guys experienced any other problems with the car? Going for 10k service next week |

At the service centre now doing my 10k service. Included in the list was alignment, balancing, wiper wash and some anti bacteria crap that they tried to push on me but i rejected. Since when did we have to do alignment and balancing at 10k km?! And at rm98?! What a bloody conjob! My advice to all of you is to double check what the service centre is pushing on you. If u can afford it, fine. But remember, it's still up to you. Thos will not affect your warranty! codercoder liked this post

Hi recently planning to get an extra car around 100k sub range for daily use like send kids and work purposes. Not interested in Vios or city as I current owned one (previous gen). I personally driving a Mazda 3 for 8 years overall experience was good n well maintained. Just so this s70 launched has caught my eyes to get a better car with ADAS a better safety. Eyeing on the premium spec. So far any issues or major things that you guys like and dislike during the ownership of your ride? codercoder liked this post

Hi! Got my Space Grey Flagship S70 last Sept 30. Replaced my 20yr old Waja. Oh! It feels like an upgrade for sure. Hope the undercarriage parts are more robust and longer lasting. Was quite sick of replacing absorbers/dampers, link arms, bushes on the Waja. Test drove Cherry Tiggo 7 Pro, X70, X50 before deciding on the S70. All the cars are comfortable and enough power for my driving style. The other car in the family is a 20yr Estima, figured that I didn't need another big car in my car porch and a smaller car would be handy for pasar malam or short drives for doing errands. Also it is the cheapest among the cars I considered. Thought about PPF, coating and tinting like everyone else. In the end after considering the experience the waja had gone thru on roads I realize I would be wasting my money. I'm gonna live with the security tint for the next few years. Bought the quick nano coating from Lazada and spray on and diy. Anyway the paint job on Proton cars are new great to begin with. Why spend thousands of money on it. So far the driving experience has been a pleasant one. I expect ICC will be useful for the outstation trips and overtaking should be relatively easy. My gripes with the car has been with the HU. The navigation system seems to be below standard compare with Waze and Google Maps. Tried QDLink but then the Radio seems to stop working and Media player also can't work at the same time. May still stick back to a phone holder and Waze with HU providing the entertainment. The other thing is the Media player playing music files on the USB drives seems to be a bit stupid. It seems to only play the music files in an alphabetical order based on the title of the songs. Even if I chose the music in a particular album folder, it seems to play the files based on the title name of the files. Anyway I'm old school, I don't use Spotify or Joox. Anyway for those streaming services or Syok, how has the experience during areas where the 4G signals are weak or not available? I stay in Setia Alam area, it is very rare to see S70 on the roads here. How is it in other areas or regions? Is it because more older people prefer SUVs and young professionals prefer small cars like MyVI, City and Vios? alexei liked this post

QUOTE(josh5671 @ Nov 6 2024, 10:08 AM) thanks.. i think i will direct buy the clutch pulley and change it on next oil change not the tensioner pulleythe lowest to the ground should be alternator pulley right? X50 famous for alternator pulley issue lately, but their case is the pulley become loose and cannot charge battery for S70, I dunno yet in my case, my belt screeching (not S70), send to diagnose, is not belt or tensioner issue, but because alternator pulley jam - when idle, aircon off, masuk gear - vibrate - when idle, aircon on and compressor running, masuk gear - screeching noise and vibrate |

QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 6 2024, 10:32 AM) not the tensioner pulley then my x50 probably different issue. QUOTE(alexei @ Nov 6 2024, 10:48 AM) oh like this... probably tensioner bearing or those things yea, because so far it doesnt affect the car yet. I'm not familiar with X50 structure, but should easily diagnose and replace it probably one of the pulley or belt as i claim before..because all these seem like not yet replace since the car come to me ofc will update here later if preceded anything, good or bad. alexei liked this post
