Yes they allow P2 launch 1st Toyota cant launch the model 1st before hand. Is alright I start eyeing MG HS btw below 150K get a C segment car I wait Yaris Cross launch till I moding already.
Thailand alot of MG btw also build quality on par with Japanese counter part after I saw the car 1st hand.
I tested the MG 4 EV. The ride at the back is too harsh. Can't accept it. Not sure how their other model fare. Hence, waiting here for YC or CC face-lift.
I think P2 would release early next year as they didn't release anything in 2024. If Nexis and Emo release next year, it won't be shocked if they hit 400K plus although that would mean working over their capacity.
Toyota Yaris Cross may not launch in Malaysia. What is alternative for Hybrid Compact SUV besides those China brand or H brand?
I just bought the facelift CC Hybrid, got it for RM131.8K during year end, so it's bang for bucks. The drive is so smooth. But I would still say the Yaris Cross interior has a better ergonomics.
I owned an Ativa as well. I prefer the Ativa UI interface on the MID (it's much more intutive like using an Apple product) and there are things that are better thought (which are also reflected on the Yaris Cross). For example, CC front's cabin light can only be on or off but can't be controlled based on the door. There's no foot lighting on both driver and passenger as well. Ativa's cabin light also turns on when you go near the car. The dashboard on CC also curve out too much that it eat up space inside at the front. Ativa and Yaris Cross doesn't have this sort of odd design. And don't let me talk about the television screen on the CC albeit it has shrinked a little bit on the facelift and the USB cable plug position on the screen. I felt that the team that design the smaller Toyota car are better in terms of ergonomics.
Well, the car still exist. And RND still doing stuff. Last known problem are they installing new model rear view camera.
For sure will release la. Already set up so many local vendor making parts. Cost like molding and stamping, you think the vendors can do it for free if cancel? It's just a matter of time. If can't wait, just get other cars.
I would have waited for YC if weren't for the constant repairs I was having with my HRV. I think the ergonomics in YC is better than Cross that I bought. Anyway, I'm sure it is coming this year, so if you already set your heart on it, just wait.
Just got a call from my SA for perodua last evening. Confirmed Perodua Nexis is on this Dec launch. But only ICE version. Told him that for now, not interested since I bought Corolla Cross last month. Been waiting for this Nexis for almost 3 years and my patience has ran out. Perodua wanted to play cat and mouse game too much. Well, too bad as I believe many of their potential customers for this new Nexis had turned to other models as they were unsure of them it will be launched. Anyway, this Nexis will face a huge challenge with those low cost EV for the same market size market segment, I suppose. Will consider this again next few years gua, unless EV infra has matured tremendously next few years.
Many 1 size larger EV and ICE in the 100-125K ball park now. It has to be cheap to sell but it will definitely eat Ativa's sales. Ativa has to go for facelift and quietly reduce price. Even P2 has no where to run from CCP car wave.
Add: The price is being determined by the Toyota version actually. And the Toyota version is now dictated by the CCP car prices. To follow their old recipe of 20K extra on top of P2 version is no longer doable in my opinion. 20K difference if one is a hybrid yes, if pure ICE no. Of course now people want those things like automatic aircond, wireless AA and AC, keyless on both doors, electric seat, etc. The differences becoming less and less.

Felt that CCP cars are feature packed but quality is not there yet. If you browse through CCP cars group on FB, you will know. Simple things like seat also can koyak within less than a year, door handle broke, side windscreen broken for no reason, etc. We haven't go for other more major component down the road yet.
Like fongsk, I too have the same car combo, Ativa+CC HEV. The pure petrol Yaris Cross would definitely a better drive just like the Ativa but it will lack the fine details refinement especially like the e-cvt on the CC, it just felt so well integrated. If Toyota have a 4-cylinder turbo even if it is 1.0L with hybrid, it woud be the best combination. Not sure how the Yaris Cross hybrid would drive like but it probably will be a bit lacksture in terms of driving but given the weight, it might be just okayish.
76k (x) and 82k (H) spec for Traz, which would mean toyota's YC will at least be 104k
I think 115K before rebate, throw in rebate 105K. Because it is hybrid + sun roof. That's plenty of differences compared to Alza/Veloz that is only cosmetics but already 20K. Just pray they don't use the localized P2 parts because it's over 95% according to report.
