Started doing mine for a niche video game I play seasonally. It's pretty chill (but then again it's a topic I'm passionate about, and seasonally means only active for a month or so every quarter.)
My main objective is just sharing though, although wouldn't hurt down the line if I can monetize it, it's not my main motivation.
I think it can definitely burn you out if you do contents on things you're not passionate in.

Currently would love to learn more on video editing skills, shortcuts, tips & tricks, etc. that would make my videos pop more.

QUOTE(jonee1881 @ Jan 12 2024, 02:29 PM)
I haven't started my YT channel yet, but i am working also with my ex colleague that we will start a YouTube Channel, and going around interviewing people around KL.

We are just doing the ground work, so i decided to start practicing Video editing...and i actually enjoyed it and taken it as a hobby.

Originally i started on with CapCut for PC which is the easiet to learn and there's ton's on tutorials on YT to learn it and picked up pretty fast but i found it not suitbale for my needs, so i am now learning Davinci Reslove which also has a free version. It's better that premier pro (you can check on the reviews).

But it way harder to learn, well i wouldn't say harder, but it's more detailed professional type of video editing.

Downsides of Davinci Resolve, you need a pretty good PC or Mac and the YT Tutorials are not sufficient to learn everything, you need to buy one of those expensive tutorials.

But there is a popular one called Kolder creative which he sells his course for 3.7K, however you can get it on shopee for RM12 which is what i did.

I have done majority of the course this week, and plan to finish the color grading section today and next week start playing around with the software.

Hope it helps.

Using ShotCut myself (based on my research is a more extensive CapCut), I think capability wise it's good, just trying to learn how to insert animations / do transition / etc. to for a more entertaining video.
Maybe if I ever hit a technological wall with ShotCut then I'd venture to learn other softwares. I heard DaVinci Resolve is quite taxing hardware wise so it drove me off abit.

I'm more lacking in techniques under my belt I guess, just need to learn on youtube more for the tips & tricks.
